1k will do
I Got a room at the Double Tree Hotel this past evo. It was roughly 3 minutes south of the Rio on the freeway… Room was huge… big ass beds, big ass TV, for a quarter the price…
for 4 NIGHTS… ended up paying 60$ between 2 friends…
Wooow. I’m going to deffo keep an eye on deals like those.
How much was the Evo Discount when booking a room at the Rio?
Lets see…
Flight, about $400. Venue fee is probably $15 or $20. Each tournament is probably $20. Hotel for 3 days is like $300 (but if you decide to go cheap like I plan on doing in 2012, you will end up paying only $150). Then you have to eat, so maybe $50 on food. And then if you plan on playing money matches, you should bring $200. So get about $2000 and you should have money left over from the trip.
I plan on going this year (michigan) so I gotta see how much I will need since its at ceaser’s palace and I see hotel room for 5 days is about 1000 lol thats alot gonna have to split with someone
I hope that the flights are not to bad with it being so close to the fourth of July
You could stay at a hotel near Ceasars. I know that the Gold Coast is pretty cheap and while it is not on the strip it is only a quick(10 minute) shuttle ride over there.
What’s the average price of a room at Caesars? I’m planning on saving around $3000, considering I’ll most likely spend $1500 on plane tickets alone, that will leave me around 1.5k for Vegas expenses.
The cheapest one I saw for four nights was about 680. Could make it cheaper by having other people in there as well.
i plan on going to evo for 2012, do people actually share rooms with random people? because if so, i would be interested in doing that to save money especially since none of my friends like fighting games.
Wait you gotta be 21 to get a hotel?
I live in Phoenix, Arizona, there might be 3 or 2 people with me and I’m not going to enter any tournament(maybe a side tournament), Ima just watch. How Much do I need?
Cheapest I’ve gotten so far was, with 3 people, 830 with flight+hotel for 4 nights.
EDIT: Louisiana to Vegas roundtrip
I bought my plane ticket for this year for like $480.
Stayed with friends for free for helping carry and run around with shit, including walking to that hood ass corner store, buying $250 of beer and liquor. And walking it back in that 105 degree dry shit.
Brought $130~ with me. Ate well the whole weekend, played funny matches, met awesome people.
Had the best vacation ever for like $650.
my bud new a old lady down in vegas who owned a small hotel and cooks, so he payed liked $320 all around
A couple hundred less. Spectating is 100% free for most fighting game events. Bring money for swag, tho!
Word to the wise regarding hotels:
Caesar’s Palace as always is one of the pricier hotels on The Strip and the rooms are small for what you’re paying for. Average pricing I’ve seen for four nights there was $1000+ before taxes/fees for their Classic room at 350 square feet.
On the other hand, the Cosmopolitan is $600 before taxes and fees for their City Room at 420 square feet but if is far better furnished. Judging from it’s location (bordering Las Vegas Boulevard and south of the Bellagio) it looks like a 10-15 minutes away from the venue if you don’t mind the walk.
Of course, there’s cheaper hotels like Imperial Palace but it isn’t anywhere as posh as the Cosmo.
