How long will the HD Remix servers be available?

Naah, i disagree with that, i’ve the same games, and only HD Remix has big problems, lag, disconnections, bugs here and there, i play Killzone 2, CoD4, CoD5, LBP, Resistance 2(up 60 players and zero lag), RE5, Resistance 1, Warhawk, Battlefield Bad Company, Far Cry 2 etc etc… everything is great, just hd remix is the problem.

Every PSN user can tell u that too.

Gears of War 2 only has 8 players online support and it was so laggy and buggy before the patch lol

maybe its my internet connection?

or maybe i have the settings wrong under network?

all i know is a ton of consumers have the same problems i have with the ps3(i know this at least with the CoD games through various fourms, ha)

EA is the only company I know of that’s pulled 360 game servers. Mostly old sports games. I believe Chromehounds is also set to go down within the coming months.

EA is one of the only guys who serve their own stuff on XBL. I think Ubisoft may do it on a few of their games too.

It has to do with how much over a long period of time. You are essentially buying the console over again especially with how cheap they are now.

Its not the actual money, but the money over time.

I’ll eventually get it, but I’m making minimum wage + $1.00 and going to school on loans. I’ll probably wait till I have a better job.

I have a job, as does my wife, I finished college and got a 4 year BS degree, my wife also went to college though she didn’t finish, despite all that because of this crappy economy we’re living in a 1 bed room apartment and can just barely make the rent each month. So yeah, paying for live is a big deal even for those with jobs, the economy sucks right now, so with the exception of a few particularly blessed individuals or perhaps people with jobs who are still living with their parents and paying no/cheap rent, I don’t think that statement is accurate. I’m no PSN fanboy, don’t own a ps3, only a 360, but the only time I’ve gotten to play on live was during the first free month I got with the purchase of the console, and the free month they gave last december, all because of the fact they charge and things are already too tight right now to tack anything else onto our monthly budget, even 10 dollars.

Maybe when the psn hdr servers go down I’ll be better off, able to afford live, and glad I’ve got an x-box, but right now I admit I’d probably have preferred to have owned a ps3 for that free online play. Alas, didn’t know about x-box charging and PlayStation not charging till after I’d already gotten the 360. Darn the 360 and its alluring lower initial price.

Its not excessive, but hell I don’t even have time to get online but like once or twice a week. So even if I had live, it would be money wasted, since I don’t have the time to play as much now.

Although that should change next semester, juniors get to register for classes 2nd.

I’ll see yall on live at some point, it just might take longer, since I need a better stick, and the console, and live, and the game, and a woman. Wait you can ignore that last one. :wgrin:

~$300 right there

I’m assuming that HD Remix just uses Sony and Microsoft’s generic, non-game-specific matchmaking servers. After that, you’re connected directly to your opponent, i.e. your console is the ‘server’. That’s how Diablo and Starcraft used to work on Battle.net. Dedicated servers are usually reserved for 16+ player games.

Hey Dan, I remember when I first got my 360 the first 3 xbl SILVER accounts I made were changed into gold like a promotion deal. This worked for the first 3 different accounts and that deal might still be in place. Just ignore everything like “do you want to buy gold instead” and finish the registration and in the end it should give you a promotion deal. At least, if it;s still in place.

Otherwise there are webshops where you can buy live for cheap. like 30 bucks a year.

Yeah like everytime I create a new account for either WWL HDR or WWL SF4 they were given 30 day free gold trials. I mean in theory you could create an account with a new live address, and write down all your friends, delete the old account, then create a new account, and resend the friend invites to everyone. And this way you even can go get all the achievements again, it is nice to see a little message telling you you did something special, even if you’ve already done it before.
