Word, I was never into any of the vs. games other than CvS2. I never played any 3D fighting games really. I fucked around with Tekken 3 for a while with some friends. I still have it.
Ive always been a Street Fighter person. I played a little sam sho 1 or 2 in the arcade from time to time and screwed around with games like Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat and other games. The ones that were popular in the arcades at the time. I never cared for ST but people were playing it so I played. I wouldnt go out of my way to play any fg’s really though. Till the Alpha Series came around…
Sad thing is, ive been playing fighting games for a pretty long time and I have never been that good at them. Out of the group of friends I have had and played with over the years Im always the worst player. I never did good at tournys either. But I love fighting games and I’ll keep on playing.
my first time playing any fighting game was street fighter 2 then went on to mortal kombat. but still love street fighter more. after that went on to alpha series. never really was into other fighting games. but i love the capcom vs snk series too.
well ive played sf4 midway after the release date got tips for playing bison from fightnationex on xbox360 then a couple months later sold my xbox360 got a ps3 got destroyed from everyone on psn until i made a post on shoryuken and found a sparring buddy that taught me the ropes and now im doing better then scrub beginner level. i dont know if you can count me playing other fighting games casually like cvs2,st and third strike ,alpha 3 also ive always played fighting games but not seriously more of a scrub kind of casual level. real human interactions change everything about the game when you play it in a different light.
I think the hardest part about getting into new fighting games for me is that arcades are dead. I grew up in the bay area and was always playing fighting games live at the arcade, now living on the east coast there are no arcades, or the arcades just have DDR and gameshow games
Maby to truely get back into fighting games I will have to try and find some local tournies or something to get into.
