Compared to some of the other infs… ROM isn’t super hard… just looks it as first b/c of the speed… it really has an even hit timing with a standard rthyme… stuff like IM Air to ground is much tougher for me b/c the timing is variable to a greater degree it would seem. Seems like most of the inputs for ROM go in at roughly an even rate cept putting a bit of pep on the addf and sj… …that being said… when I played mags… I normally only ROM’d out 25 hits or so before grav xx temp. Those other 20 hits or so only doing 1 dmg each… and I can only ROM to 40+ maybe 1/2 the time and the risk of dropping em sucks… but I’m sure thats mostly of result of not much practicing it. All that being said… I’d stll rom out to 25 hits or so and grav xx temp then dhc if needed… before I just settled for resets.
you’re hands must truly be godlike to get the rom in a couple hours. it took me a month of consistent practice to get it down to where i could use it in a match. Namely after you called me out about getting better at it. Twice.
also listen to Beats new Marvel players. when it comes to technical Marvel he knows what he’s talkin bout. Having played Beats he is right. One game i had the momentum in the match. I was romming him and went for half of the jose garcia reset. He blocked it and i lost all the momentum i had built up and went on to lose the game. infinite till death definitely helps when crunch time is on. its not everything… but going against better players than you that know what you’re gonna do before YOU do makes your 3 or so resets dang near useless. even if you know 20 resets off rom there are only so many you can use in any certain situation. thats why you see some old school resets on top players work cuz its shocking. Top players and even really good players have outstanding defense generally. MM Justin Wong for $5 with any low tier team of his if you don’t know what i’m talking bout.
around 15 to 30 minutes.
the iron-man infinite is easy.
Cyclops infinite= hard as fuck, been trying to do it for a few days maybe around 15-20 minutes a day.
Storm on sent I got in three tries, ROM I just started doing one day. Never really practiced it or anything, I just kinda figured out how air dashes worked and how to claw to trijump. Then I did it in a match for three or four reps, got better from there.
IM infinite took like… 15 mins. It really is easy once you figure out to put a pause in. Air to ground infinite setups are still hard for me, though. I’m really inconsistent with refly.
The first infinite I learned was IronMan. It didnt take long at all, but the timing kinda threw me off in the beginning. Then I learned the Mag infinite. Thats harder, because of air dash + jab timing and all. That took me about a week on console, but about a month or so on the stick. I saw tips on how to do it, but I just couldnt get it down pat. Its really the timing with infinites, not the commands.
Go through the first three hits as fast as possible. Then you have a half hour to do the fourth hit. Same thing applies to Storm. Just rush through to fierce then wait on roundhouse.
I had hella problems with it when I didn’t know about claw/slide and was just trying to push buttons fast. Once I got comfortable with claw/slide it was automatic. I remember ShadyK telling me he had the same problem until Duc told him how to do it right, hah. ROM is really easy, and once you’ve learned it you’ve also learned how to triangle jump properly (or vice versa). Nice benefit.
This. If you know how to tri-jump then you know how to ROM. There’s not even any timing to it really, you can do it fast or slow, straight up and down or forward, 3 hits or 7. Hitting a lot of buttons is fun.
And earlier I was arguing for five-fierce over ROM because this mostly seemed like a new player type thread. So for a new person they’re way more likely to nail that consistently over max ROM to unmashable to DHC blah blah. Though I definitely did understate ROM. But there’s the reason.
ROM is super great online if what you want is a frozen Xbox.
As soon as I bought the game off xbox live, the first thing I thought was “IRON MAN INFINITE!!!11!” that took me around an hour to learn and perfect (keeping at the right hight).
