This is right, except you never get exactly 64PP. If you are within the same PP range +/- ~ 32PP (equalys ~16PP up or down) you will get 63PP

Grand Master rank was achieved by a few players like Daigo, Tokido, Latif, Wolfkrone, Air, also a japanese viper etc… it is possible.

Yep, all it really lacks is a taking into account the accuracy of the ranking of one player (number of matches played x lowest and highest PP obtained). I don’t really understand why they didn’t bother including it, it’s not like copying the whole algorithm from the chess federation would have cost more money.

Grand Master can happen at 30,000 flat right after A+ in some cases. 30,000BP may also just turn you into MASTER where you would have to keep winning until you become Grand Master. the number is different for everyone. You stay Master no matter how much BP you have and as long as you are master you can become GM anytime if you were to keep winning, I guess if you go below 20000 you would turn back to A+ though. It has nothing to do with BP after 30000.

source?

Not impossible. Keep in mind that the scoring system will me more harsh on you now that you have rank A. You’ll get less points for winning matches and you’ll lose more points for losing matches. You’ll also face strong players more often. That’s why you fell back to 14000 from 15000, I presume.

I experienced it when I reached 5000 and then dropped back to 2500, which lowered my rank and I quickly got to 5000 again, now steadly climbing towards 10000 due to playing better. I’m guessing that once I reach 10000 I’ll fall to 5000 and then go up again.

getting master is a waste of time or impossible in most cases unless you have a hyper offensive character like poongko or latif so most of the matches are really short

The problem with getting to Master (as I stated before) is that there isn’t enough competition at A rank of above to gain points from at a reasonable enough rate to get there. Clearing a 10k BP gap at that high up the scale I imagine would take damn near forever even if you are one of the best players in the world.

getting to master? good luck. i just got A+ for the second time with akuma (yes, i was downgraded to A). u get about 1-15 points per win, and about 30-40 points taken per loss so that’ll take awhile

That has to take a lot of hours.

I know that filipin0man achieved Grand Master a couple of months ago (on XBox Live), so it definitely can be done just by playing. A lot.

yeah I just play ranked cuz I h8 waiting in endless lobbies

Yeah waiting in lobbies is awful, they should have it then when u have 4 or more players multiple matches play out at the same time.

His winrate is also ridiculous. He’s the best Rose in NA by a huge margin.

on psn its not working at all
90% make after b rank a new acc
out of 20people 18 play on fake acc its ridicules
not much fun to play rank on psn

isnt filipinoman a legit tourney player?

Yes

(I don’t think anybody denied that, though?)

As @Vulpes said, he is - his Rose is fabulous.

And that was my point - that you could reach Grand Master by being good enough (and playing enough).

Grandmaster is a bit of an anomaly. Seems like some people get it by getting to 30,000 BP, while others get the Master tag. Maybe win rate actually comes into play here? Grand Master doesn’t seem to tie to a BP #.

Lol Source? I am a GrandMaster thats your source. For PC anyway, I am on the road on xbox as well. A+ is the illest bitch, but I managed to save myself from getting Downgraded. By the time you get A+ you pretty much know all you may need to know, and then the only way to get Master is to completely eradicate your own bad habits. Even on the road from 20000, you WILL get random-ed out (Even Daigo gets the treatment) by someone who doesn’t care as much as you and therefore takes huge risks because they already assumed they lost anyway . The point is to toss that phony pride aside, hold the losses that you witness and take it slow because the most important thing is to have fun. Play the game you love and you will have fun, It’s also that some days you realize today is not your day so you let that shit hang. That’s just the way it is. You can’t treat this rank shit like a chore then you miss out on the fun. you know… that thing that you started playing for in the FIRST PLACE .

Waste of time? Impossible? Sounds like you are low on that thing called ambition. It’s supposed to be fun it’s not a job. It really doesn’t seem like a waste of time. I’ll tell you whats a waste of time. Trying to climb to 30000 fighting chumps. One of those chumps beats you and sets you back an hour (that is of course if you only prey on chumps) You lose more for losing to B+ than you would lose to an A. It isn’t about a hyperoffensive character either. It’s about pushing your own limits and doing things the way YOU wanna do it and learning from your mistakes to perfect your very own style. I think alot of things are a waste of time, but self improvement can never be one of them.

And even if you do get master, ‘Mastery’ NEVER ends. The same way one could be a Master and didn’t even bother with Rank at all. There is 39 different ways to have memories with this game, so many are underachievers and take that shit for granted.

it’s not a win rate thing, it just comes up for you whenever the game decides you are one. Seriously. When I did it with Yun on PC that shit took forever. And I was winning 20 - 30 streak. Nothing, then i’d lose. One day I got like a 40 streak on ranked and Yun went GM. Then, when I did it as Cammy, I lost once every 20 games. and still got it. Even though I’d lose now and then. Two ways it happens.

  1. You hit 30000 and the server feels like giving it to you then and there.
  2. You hit 30000 and only become Master, now just keep playing until the game promotes you on a random win/loss (yes it can even rank up on a loss) of yours. There is no set in stone # of fights, it is unique for everyone.
