How do you deal with "your a scrub"?

I had it at “than” originally then changed it for for whatever reason.

But please, be my guest. Feel free to head to every thread on SRK and fix all grammatical errors. Oh and for the record, it’s “You” and “Sorry”, you also missed a period. I’d advise looking in the mirror first before stepping into the grammar police territory when you make three incredibly blatant and laughable errors when trying to correct someone else’s.

yea closet one i found was 4 hours away no car 16yrs old no local buses

I only message people calling them scrubs only when they ragequit or complain about me winning a ‘cheap’ way.

People online don’t know you, and chances are, they never will. Their opinions of you are invalid and mean nothing. Ignore them, They’re buttmad and you’re (Usually) Not. Ignore them, Troll them, Block them. Whatever.

It just matter, Just enjoy the game and carry on as you were.

what about my “a scrub?”

Like everybody above me posted, ignore it.

I got my first piece of hate mail the other night after beating a B ranked Bison player calling me a “lame scub who only ruffian kicks”. I beat him because he jumped around like an idiot and ate 90% of my hk Ruffian kicks… I kept doing them and won. Does that make me a scrub? No. It’s smart and I won.

relax dude I was just making a joke (you know, like you did in your first post), sorry if the internet doesn’t provide enough context

You’re not a scrub. Playing bad doesn’t make you scrub, but making excuses for playing bad does.

Nuff said.:y

people online would call someone like daigo a scrub

The guys who lose to a scrub are worse than a scrub. So if you keep getting hate mail it means you’re doing it right and you should be proud of yourself.

This x10. Say “if I’m a scrub, then that makes you a superscrub because you’re losing to me.”

STOP PLAYING ONLINE.

there was a time when online play was not an option. people dont generally throw insults like that in person. also, interacting with people in person probably would lend itself to NOT BEING SO DAMN SENSITIVE AS A BITCH TO ONLINE CRITICISM.

SO STOP BEING AN ONLINE BITCH, PLAY IN PERSON.

Honestly… that’s just the way a lot of people deal with losing. The main point is if you’re good, then no matter how “scrub-ish” the other player is, you shouldn’t have lost. It’s actually a psychological thing… for instance:

I play with a good friend of mine all the time… and when I win, he usually responds with something along the line of: “WTF MAN! YOU CHEATIN’!”… but he knows you can’t “cheat” in a game like Street Fighter… especially sitting right next to someone. It’s just his way of saying “Good game man, I couldn’t hang with you that round.”

So just take the “scrub” comments as a compliment. Invite them to play again, beat them again… let them “insult” you again… and repeat until they get tired of losing and ragequit or you get bored. If you lost to someone, and they call you a “scrub” for losing, reply back with, “yeah man, good game.” and leave it at that.

“Shut up and fight”.
Or if you feel like an ass “And still can handle your ass”

Everyone’s a critic. Unfortunately, online anonymity brings out the rudeness in some folks.

As many have stated/implied - keep chugging online, and don’t let “scrub” talk bother you. Motivate yourself to excel and raise the bar on your execution. You’ve got bigger things to worry about with the game than some idiot calling you a scrub.

mabe if you read you’ll know why i play online and im over it know

Agree and ask them for pointers. Most wont reply after that.

Be honest and humble. Acknowledge your failings and strive for improvement. Don’t get angry, and don’t let it get you down either. Just play and have fun.
