By “feel” not actually knowing the button? - I’m new to using Arcade Sticks, so its a pretty weird transition going to a stick from pad.

I have a SE and I just bought the joystick so I have to void the warranty especially since I’m getting sanwa buttons and stick…but thanks guys keep it coming.

I use a TE stick. I use the American layout(the 6 straight buttons).

I use my middle finger for focus, my index and middle for throw, and now when I want to cr.mk xx ultra I use my index to hit lp and mk together.

Don’t use the ‘all’ buttons.

I don’t think anyone is saying that they DON’T have three punches on top, and three kicks on bottom. I was saying that I’m an American and use straight buttons. FUCK YEAH AMERICA.

Yo. Something so brilliant and simple. Just swapping the button connects around to ever avoid fucking around with controller mapping?

If you ever get one of those “Why didn’t I think of that” moments… I just had one from that. Good lookin’ out. I haaaaaaaate fucking around mapping buttons.

Going to go broken-record over here, but definitely listen to these guys.
It’s always best to leave those other buttons to “no function”. Trust everyone you hear saying that. It will help in the long run.

(My good deed for the day : advice. As you eventually progress to shoryu xx fadc > whatever. tap your punch input with your index or middle, or both. shoot over to tap mp+mk with your thumb/index or index/middle. Makes for easier timing. You wind up inputting a bit too quickly when using the 3 finger claw tapping technique for it, otherwise)

(I’m trying to ween my gf off using those 3x punch/kick button right now. She’ll come around. Hopefully, just not come around to srk.)

I use default arcade layout A. I don’t understand what everyone has against using the extra two buttons. Maybe it’s just because I don’t play at arcades anymore. My stick came with 8 buttons, and SF4 automatically maps to those 8 buttons, so why not use them? I mean, if anyone complains that they got beat because “some dude had PPP mapped to a single button”, that’s really fucking lame.
