I have found that Neutral Jump, cr.MK, Dashing, or straight up blocking work the best… If he goes in the air then I either NJ or cr.mk… You could use EX Bingo -> FADC if you are willing to risk it, but I find it’s not worth it…

I might sound like a jerk right now, but seriously - that’s the only thing you can do to avoid it. Ex Zonk kinda helps tho. You probably won’t hit him, but at least you wake up safly (if he doesn’t slide or whatever).

Against every move you can do something, learn what and try to “read” him and his behaviour.

i hate the el fuerte matchup as much as i hate the guile matchup, whenever elf goes into u2 all i can do is hold up and hope for the best, the airgrab is frustrating too, air to airing him seems like a great thing to practice though so im glad this came up

elf is the worst. what ive learned from getting bodied by elf is that he most elfs will run up and then do the overhead. you can also train yourselve to listen for the sounds he makes. i like to think he makes different sounds when he slams/grabs. also, when nj, air-to-air, you probably want to use lk because its the fastest and is pretty good poke…so yeah pretty much what zukuu said, you have to learn the mix ups and guess right. i think there is an explanation in the matchup thread (kind of a flow chart thing) but i’ll have to check.

my final tip: i say learn the character and basic mixups of elf to get familiar. i found it pretty helpful…but i still get bodied :stuck_out_tongue: dont be discouraged!

I think I shouldn’t mention that Elf is kinda my “second” [Tho I don’t even have a “real” main]. I just love him, he’s soo quirky xD AND has the best taunt ingame! Period.

There isn’t a way to stop El Fuerte’s mixup, it’s a pure guess. Same with Zangief and Abel mixup. The way to avoid it is to not get into the situation in the first place, the rest is mindgames (you might of neutral jumped out of one mixup so El Fuerte might try to catch you jump the next time etc).

that was some good shit. anti-air f.hk? im stealing that one lol

i also recommend you use U2 because its hard to anti-air with it consistently, and he has low health so its relatively easy to chip him out at times.
