One fact everyone is missing is the different strength Hurricane’s have different ranges. The light has a surprising range. A standing light followed by a delayed LP Hurricane works once you condition the opponent for standing LP, crouching MP, LP Spark. Even LP, slight pause standing MP kara LP Hurricane can work as well.
cr.H kara isnt rly worth using imo, lots of range on it but unlikely that you will have a chance to use it in the first place, especially considering that when ppl play against thor they’re usually constantly rushing you down or jumping around so that you cant catch them.
Tri-jump into mighty hurricane or cr.L, st.H xx MH are both much more useful imo
I like to do trijump H a lot for combo starting and just pressuring when possible… if you get good with this then practice doing trijump, whiff falling h, land, kara MH and it becomes pretty scary.
It also helps to perfect the timing of kara MH… when I was learning kara MH it was a pain to get consistently but after practicing trijump, whiff falling h, land, kara MH it became easy. The reason is that’s a 4 input setup where each input can be mashed at max speed. When you get used to doing that you can start to just do the kara MH with the same rhythm and speed and you’ll start to nail it all the time.
Why am I getting his down down H taunt? I am doing it WAY too fast I think lol
I’m working the the kara MH myself with poke and pressure strings, while not trying to make it too obvious.
I find that if you start with the stick in d/f, then do a pretty slow double-tap H, while completing the HCB motion in between the taps, I get the Kara MH more often. Just watch Thors c.H you-you tap H, then again right before the move hits. Boom, pause, boom. In that small window, you want to do the motion. Starting with d/f saves you a lot of time than going form a down > HCB motion.
As for the tri-jump. One thing I like to do if I’m right in front of their face is normal jump xx air dash down, whiff L, land, MH. When I jump, I’m doing a full revers 360 motion, from down-to-down. In that time, if they jump, I tap Land MH them. If they don’t, i hold down + L, M and air dash down > grab. I mix-up this action with tri-jump back to bait attack/assist, tri-jump forward (ambiguous) cross-up on crouching characters, fly, f.S over head, or M mighty strike which I believe is safe on block and you can combo if it hits. So, a lot of options for Thor.
If you have done it in 2p,check if you had the 1(down/backward) direction correct. You are usually miss this input.
