i got the same thing…had to wear paper sunglasses as a kid.
My eyesight is pretty bad. Indoors everything looks slighty blurry. I can still read letters on my computer and I read books regularly but I’ve come to the realization that I need glasses. My question is can I just go to the eye center in Walmart and get my eyes checked, or should I got to an eye clinic or hospital to get them looked at?

does watching alot of tv or being on the computer alot worsen eye sight? cus my eyesights been deteriorating, even though the doctor told me at a much slower rate then whats usual
even though my vision isnt that bad, i still have to wear glasses/contacts and its annoying as hell to me, so anybody know?
20/200. without contacts, I can’t hit the inside of my house unless I’m using smart bombs.

I tried searching for topics on “eye” “health” and “contact” and this is the closest I could to finding anything that resembles what I am looking for.
I asked this in the lounge, but I know not everyone reads the lounge. (shame on you people)
So here is the question.
Can anyone tell me how I can tell the difference between Allergies Eyes, and Dry Eyes? I figure I have one of the two, so I am taking meds for both. (This can’t be good)
I schedule an appointment with my eye doc, but he busy and it going to take a couple of days before it’s my turn. (great…) Google is not helping…
P.S we need an official “eye problem” thread. 
Yeah my optometrist told me my vision is the worst he has ever seen. My outstretched hand is somewhat blurry, and i can’t read text without glasses unless my face is right next to it. I couldn’t read a computer screen unless i am about 5 inches away from it, and even then requires squinting
20/300 in my left eye and 20/20 (i think) with astigmatism in my right. Glasses make my face look unbalanced.
How good is lasik anyway ?

played video games since I was a kid, 13 years later and I’m still rockin’ without glasses. Taught some good habit which I kept til today. the kids in my generation in the family, and family friends rock glasses, those who are younger and older, except this one cousin of mine, who is basically the 1up version of me, in every aspect.
Tell me about it, whenever somebody makes a health thread they get overrun by SRK’s general practitioners acting like its their area of medical expertise while SRK’s optometrists get shouted down and flamed.
I’m far sighted and slightly red/green color blind. Eyes of a hunter.
Although when I’m old I’ll need reading glasses and will have a hard time putting on matching socks.
prior to getting lasik my vision was 20/300 with astigmatism in my left eye and 20/200 in my right eye.
now 20/20 /flex
I hate wearing glasses.
But my vision is blurry because I was always using the computer, with a SUPER crappy monitor…
I can’t recall the numbers, all I know is that the vision in my left eye is slightly worse than the one in my right, glasses pretty much fix it

Mine was - 7. something in each eye. I was REALLY shortsighted. Optical express sorted that shit out

I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I think my eyesight was like -5.25 or something like that. My eyes are pretty bad…I’m nearsighted, and can’t see too much without my glasses. I think my poor eyesight is something I inherited from my father…my brother also has bad eyesight, but my sister got lucky and does not wear glasses.
my vision sucks. i don’t know the numbers, but yeah my hand starts to get blurry about a foot from my face. i can’t distinguish who people are without my glasses, all i see are blurs.
one time at the beach i was looking for the bathroom, i aimlessly wandered around for like 5 minutes before i went to ask my friend where it was, and it turned out it was right in front of me the whole time.
i’m so envious of people with good vision… you don’t know how much of a blessing it is.
when i was a kid i told my brother i want to know what it’s like to wake up with good vision, so one time i was waking up all groggy and my brother was fumbling around with my glasses trying to put it on my face before i woke up lol.
on another note, is it my imagination, or do a lot of really smart people wear glasses?
