how many people for marvel?

So, for brawl, what type of ruleset are you planning on using? Allbrawl, Item Standard Play, or SWF standard? I’m fine with any, but I’d hate to go to a Allbrawl/ISP tourney without having practiced item use at all, heh.

I’m pretty sure this will be a non item tournament.

yea should be no items, but the rules should be posted so people can know.

Hey, something I wanna say.
I think you may want to start Brawl at least an hour earlier. That shit takes a while to finish.

Also, what about Street Fighter Turbo HD? Any chances of that being in the tournament or at least a side event?
If so, who wants in on that?
I can bring a PS3 with the game ;o

yea sf-hdr is a possibility but we need to get the game first.

These fools act like they dont want to dl it.

I’ve been busy with a new job and trips to UH to prepare for next semester so gene and big chris can be counted on if any questions arise. It was a group effort in the planning so they can answer most questions if i take awhile to respond. As for smash the basic rules apply for the most part in terms of no items. The reason I haven’t posted the rules yet is I haven’t had time to read over all that new stage striking material and the new stages that are non-neutral and banned. Other than that it’s standard brawl. If a smash player wants to post the current standard tourney rules then I will use them since I’m not a smash player. Final decision will be made on this coming monday in terms of times and the optional games. HD-remix seems to be the popular pick. If we can get enough copies we will run it.

Well I’ll bring it for PS3 just in case.
Sorry, no converters from PS2 -> PS3 just yet ;(

I guess I can go ahead and post standard brawl rules.

*Random stages:
Final Destination
Smashville
Yoshi’s Story
Battlefield
Pokmon Stadium 1

*Counterpicks:
Castle Siege
Delfino
Halberd
Lylat Cruise
Brinstar
Corneria
Frigate Orpheon
Jungle Japes
Luigi’s Mansion
Norfair
Pictochat
Pirate Ship
Rainbow Cruise

Everything else is banned.

* **Dave's Stupid Rule**: a player cannot counterpick a stage that he has already won on.

* **Set format (In Order of Procedure)**:
  1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match
  2. Opponents may choose one stage to be banned from the random selection
  3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
  4. The first game is played, and immediately restarted if either opponents random stage bans comes up on random.
  5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Random Stage List or the Counter Stage List
  6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
  7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
  8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
Double blind character selection may be called for the first match.

* Matches will be best 2/3, with the exception of winner's, loser's, and Grand finals, which will be 3/5.

* Time set to 8 minutes.
In the event of the timer running out, winner will be decided by stock and then %. If for some crazy reason stock and percent are both tied when time runs out, players will play out a 1 stock overtime match.

* Items set to 'off' and 'none'.

* Teams will be arranged in a 1221 slot format.

* Wiimote users: Remove your batteries after each of your sets. We don't want the syncing to mess with other tournament matches.

* Disputes over who gets the first strike in a match or what team is to have what slots, etc, will be resolved with a game of rock-paper-scissors.

* If a game ends with Bowser or Ganondorf suicide killing on the last stock, that game will count as a win for Bowser/Ganondorf.

* **Stalling is banned**. (defined: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is.)

* **Metaknight's infinite dimensional cape is banned.

**

I could post up the rules for the stage strike system for first stage, but for simplicity’s sake you may want to just keep it at the random select.

Sounds good, I will possibly show.

Yes random select, that stage striking shit is too annoying.

u dont wanna see my DeDe anyway Suavion.
