yeah, i dl’d the ep so i didn’t see any previews either…i also like how the entire him he was in the hospital there was no diagnosis they just gave him meds to calm him down seemed pretty bullshit to me.
Episode was soooo good. The blonde doctor is super cute, she looked a bit like a slimmer version of bitchy doctor.
really good season premier way to break the “CSI” formula where you know just wait for the last 10 minutes to figure out the mystery.
Did I miss something? It didn’t seem like they were overtly expressing that “antidepressants are the answer.” Or are you talking about the Alvie thing? If you are, I think it’s more like a “if you recognize you need help, then get help” or a “you can only truly get help if you want it” type of thing.
Re: season opener. Great stuff, good to see House out of his element with no team and no medical mystery to solve. Hopefully the rest of the season stays as strong throughout.
This is my main problem with the season openers. I want to see the repercussions of House going to the mental hospital throughout the rest of the series. It shouldn’t be a simple couple of episodes of the mental hospital followed by two episodes that talk about it, and then nothing. My guess is that House will go right back to the way he was in a few episodes, effectively erasing the impact of the opener.
This does sadden me, the opener was amazing

I really liked the season opener. I always appreciate any of the episodes that develop House’s character. It was really heartfelt and a tear jerker.
I love the Dexter-like opening of the preview for the rest of the season. lol.
I think he’s talking about both. House and Alvie “couldn’t” have gotten better without the help of drugs.

Yeah it would’ve ruined the entire episode, but after what happened last season, I kept waiting for something like that to happen.
Yeah, I was. Antidepressants like SSRI’s really do change who you are and aren’t something you should jump on just because some doc suggests it. They don’t help you get better anyway, they just mask the symptoms (among other things.) Doctors just like putting patients on them because it shuts them up and makes them easier to deal with.
Alvie may need them (i.e. his problems extend so far that he needs to be “easier to deal with” just to make it in society,) but House never did.
If he continues to take them through the season, you can bet that the makers of Lexapro are giving FOX some ad revenue.
