For the record, I do think that Viper is better than Dante. However, Dante is probably the best team player in the game, which is part of why I think he’s top 3-5 easily. But that’s a conversation for another time lol.

Dante in general = good at almost any style of play.
Dante with meter = even better zoning and TOD for 85% of the cast.
C.viper in general = aggressive rush and zoning on the ground.
C.viper with meter = OMGWTFHORYSHITTHISGUYJUSTWENTSTFUTOBLOCKBYEXSEISMO and can also lead to 100% with low scaling hypers and easy DHC’s from.

I actually think Marvel is a game that benefits players like me that don’t have great tech skill. Magneto is probably the most tech-heavy character you have listed. You could replace him with, say, Wolverine. Taskmaster and Sentinel both have advanced combos, but their basic BnB’s still do tons of damage.
For me personally, Marvel is a more a game of positioning, mixups, screen control and general chaos. I beat a lot of players that are way more technically skilled than me by just getting that one hit to lead to a death. In GG or even SF, I didn’t feel like that was possible.
Where are you guys at? If you’re too far south I’ll just go to the gravel pit lol! Just saying, I’m UMVC3 and VF exclusively, probably where I’ll find the best comp. Personally I don’t need a godlike setup just people to body 
I’m up to get a place to host a Delaware monthly if the southerners are willing to meet come up one weekend. No Doritos for the winner tho, we talkin cash son!

Haha, we only have a couple serious Marvel players though, and they live in Salisbury maryland. Its just past the state line off of Rt.13, should be 1.5 or 2 hours for you. And i dont recommend speeding either, the town cops are out like crazy. I am meeting ONE guy today for AE, so I suggest the gravel pit if your a marvel player. I would not consider putting money down for my pubescent marvel skills against an unknown opponent. I only recently just picked that back up.
AE though, I almost yelled $50 money match last xanadu because there was not a single setup for it.

I’ll be at the Gravel Pit tonight, as per usual, grinding it out with my team. I have some new (read: stolen) Dante tech that I’m going to try out. Maybe try and go for more advanced Viper combos too.
may show up tonight with Wesker/MODOK/DOOM.
My band has picked up a last minute gig so my AE setup will once again be absent. Maybe next week!

I would like to congratulate BLAZ for passing the interview night! We had a good time with this feller, he plays pretty decent for someone who has only played offline against noone.
His AE was ass, but his marvel showed his practice.
It was odd really, he couldn’t play footsies save his life in AE, but then he would come out with a random 300 damage fadc combo, it was nice.

Nas blocked a full string of an xfactored LVL 3 Strider Ouroboros with Dark Phoenix… that shit was godlike.
Shoutouts to Cos for the win and the LEVEL UP! That was solid play all night. I’m still not a Strider A-tier believer, but getting him to 3 bars when he’s the last character is almost like having a mini-Dark Phoenix. The Viper zoning was pretty tight overall and Dante…yeah, he’s Dante. If you don’t super jump out of the teleport mixup with Strider, it’s likely curtains for the that character.
Also shoutouts for having the shittiest Wesker in DE, two weeks running. That was fun, we both missed so much basic Wesker shit. People are going to see the stream of that and laugh.
I was happy with my commentating. After the first match, it went smoothly. So much happens in Marvel, it’s best to just pick something every 10-15 seconds and call it, as opposed to trying to comment on EVERYTHING that happens. I liked my Phoenix analogy with pro wrestling, I was thinking of old school Monday night Raw, where Stone Cold would arrive at the building, then you see him backstage, then he comes to the arena and then finally, all hell breaks loose. Same deal with Phoenix when Dark Phoenix is on deck. It would be nice to have multiple people doing the commentating and probably a bit easier. Hopefully will get to do some next week.
