Hotdogs & Poprocks! ~ Skullgirls GD x 3!

Someone posted this earlier. I must say your trolling is quite high level.

Wait there’s not going to be a command list in VS mode? That’s actually a little upsetting.

Spoiler

People who get off to images of inhale PTSD-afflicted 13 year old cartoon serial killers who have more in common with Bosco than Betty Boop seriously need to get some mental help .- .

I think the lack of command list is due to the extensive training mode? If I remember right, that was one of the reasons they chose not to include one. I’m not 100% sure… it might be a good idea to inquire about that in the Skullgirls Q&A thread.

Clearly they plan on selling movelist bezels to frame around your monitor.

Wait where was this even brought up? It seemed like it randomly became what we were talking about in this thread. Is there a source for that design decision?

Wow, thanks for all the positive responses guys!!! Yeah, I totally want to throw something big for Evo. After I’m done holding a few more events I’ll see if I can set something up with Wizard.

Months ago Mike revealed the decision to not put movelist in some modes.

Reptar On Ice baby.

My bad, I’ve only recently started rebuilding my hype for this game. I gotta say that this is a little disappointing. There are times when a game will launch, I’ll get people over as soon as humanly possible and just duke it out in VS mode. There will be times where we’ll pause during a match and be like “Oh yeah how do you do that anyway?” Of course I will spend a ridiculous amount of time in the training mode, but if things go according to how I usually do them, it won’t happen until after my friends take off.

Not that this will change much really, I’m still going to buy, play, and love the shit out of this game.

Can’t you just play versus in training mode with access to the command list anyway? It seems like a small flaw in the grand scheme of things compared to stuff like three mimic characters, GEMS!, no spectator mode or horrible netcode from the depths of hell.

I renamed a Game in my SteamList (This only works for NonSteamGames added to Library) to SkullGirls and started it. Half of my Friendlist asked me what that game was that I am playing. The other half either was like “ITS OUT?? YEAAAAH” or “WTF WHERE DID YOU GET IT”.
The first half got a bunch of Info, the latter half I let simmer.
After a while I thought this was a bit mean so I just renamed it to “Go Buy SkullGirls”. I’m getting daily messages with smth like “As you command!” or “Go make it come out on PC”.

Anyhow what I wanted to say was: I really want this PC version. So much potential. So many people that randomly buy stuff they see on Steam.

Also, it was hilarious. I am a bad man :frowning:

I’m gonna do this lol

I think Mike left the shortcut to jump from versus to training mode in.

I’m half-tempted to do it myself.

I listened to that podcast. It was a terrible podcast.

You are such a bastard lol. Daaaaamn!

This does make me think of something though. Has anyone thought of making a pre release Skullgirls Steam group? I bet it’d be pretty cool if Mike and Ravidrath pass the word to Konami or whoever is handling PC distribution and the group has ballooned to 200+(I bet it could be even more popular depending on how widely we cast the net) people or some nonsense.

Dont know if you guys have any of it planned, but day 1 dlc really leaves a bad taste in people’s mouths.

Even If you have stuff for it i would highly suggest holding off on it or adding more stuff and releasing at a later date.

Just 2 pennies I had laying around.

This. (And yeah, it was being mused on over in the Q&A thread)

There is a (small but not insubstantial, i think) subset of people who will refuse to buy day 1 DLC out of principle. Plus spacing out content is always a good idea. Give people some time to get hooked on the game and bored of the original palettes first. And if multiple updates aren’t an issue, it could help bridge the interim between launch and the first DLC characters.

adds pennies to pile

Am I doing it right?

i second negaduck on this one.

also as far as the movelist goes, i dont think there is a move list in any of the modes. if there was time to make one for training mode putting it in vs or any other mode would be negligible time wise. im guessing the only thing that will tell you what moves each character has is the tutorial mode for that char. also, none of the moves are that crazy in this game, the most complicated thing is a dragon punch… as of date there are exactly: quarter circles, dragon punches, charges (up and back) and a single 360. i dont think it will be that hard to figure out what moves your character has on the fly.

EDIT: @AK: your parasoul totally looks like a dude in drag!

You wouldn’t be saying that if you saw her from the side and the back.
