There’d be a number of features that would be great for a tournament mode, such as automatically bringing up the char select button config and resetting the win counter whenever a new stick is plugged in… If KOFXIII is anything to go by, you’re really going to have to force people to get used to char select button config.

Hey everyone! I just did the math on 2 vs 3 fights, and it turns out that 3 characters is essentially a straight upgrade!

Check this funky mathy stuff out, if we do damage multiplier / enemies HP multiplier * team members, we get this:

The trio: 1 / 1.15 * 3 = 2.609
The duo: 1.3 / 1 * 2 = 2.6

So the trio has an EXTREMELY SMALL advantage in terms of overall health pool over damage taken, and more strategic options. Other benefits would be more assists, being able to recover two character’s red health at once, and triple co-star combos. Disadvantages would be needing to learn a third character and possibly not being able to do a co-star combo due to your character order.

I wonder if Mike has considered any side modes for Skullgirls. (Ex. H&H for Marvel). Sure, I know all we need is Arcade/Story ,Training, and Online. But it would be nice to see some “unusual” modes. Or an Event system like Smash Bros.

I still find it funny how some fighting developers mix the 2. (& they wonder why they get knocked for having little to no story / character development.)

I think that’s outweighed by the fact that the amount of damage you can take is limited to 33% of your total at any time though. And a team of 3 has the most total life of any team, and the most opportunities to recover red life. The biggest downside to a 3 character team IMO is the loss of damage potential as you lose characters. I imagine 3 character teams will have a pretty big advantage so long as they can manage to keep all their characters alive, but once you lose a character or two you’re in real trouble. Solo and 2-character teams will be more stable.

PC for sure, if not just so I can drag my laptop somewhere and still play it. After that it’s either double dipping on 360 or PS3, might lean towards PS3 as it seems as though it’s getting the majority of votes.
