Hori T5: Modding Tutorial

someone make plexi for this stick ! please

http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=156112 looks like they are making it

aight I just got my buttons and what not for my T5 stick and I have some artwork already formated for the layout, My question is what material is best used for this? I have a Kinkos like right down the street and I’m currently looking at their website, but can’t seem to find the exact type of paper I’m looking for. Any advice?

I have a question: Do you guys’s T5 stick cord crap out on you sometimes. How can you fix that? mine is all broken and the wires are out of the insulation at the top. I wanna fix that before I start modding it. how can I fix that?

can you re-upload the pics vamp they got removed.

1.Cut it
2. Strip it
3.???
4.PROFIT!!!

Ditto. I got about half-way through but I think I wired it waaay wrong. My Down input and jab(square) doesn’t register. I’ll get pics when I get home.

  • This stick has been a WIP since last summer.

cut
strip
splice
insulate with electrical tape
clean up
done

Also vamp before I got crazy what exactly did you do to mod your gate to attach to the metal plate already on the cover?

He drilled holes through the gate.

They line up with the holes on the metal plate of the T5

yeah I felt stupid after I asked that my GF came in and pointed that out.

I was all like :bluu:

So i’m modding my T5 and i need some Q’s answered

  1. what would i use to get rid of the excess goo left from the sticker?

  2. i want to use a terminal like Vamp what kind do i use and what wires do i use

  3. do i just solder the wires to the T5 PCB?

i sound like a total n00b right now :wonder:

  1. I used Nail Polish Remover with acetone and scrubbed it for fucking ever, and I imagine there is another way.

  2. If you go to radio shack they sell them by the electrical section. I used 18 guage wire.

  3. that is correct.

cool thanks for the help

i’d like to hear other solutions to removing the left over goo

theres this stuff called Goo Gone you can use to take it off. its a citrus adhesive remover and its amazing. you can find it at a hardware store or a home depot.

^^ UGhh… So if I wanted to mod my stick with new buttons and joystick, soldering will be involved?

If you don’t want to spend more money than you have to, use some windex. Pour it into a tray and soak the plate in it over night. Then just rub it off the next day. It should make it still tacky, but come off the plate without too much forced rubbing.

I use gasoline.

ive read no more than a 3/4" screw, but it looks like more than an inch from the bottom of the gate to the top plate. i am so close to modding the stick. i just want to make sure how much torquie i am supposed to use and also what screws, ive read 3/4".

I up’ed my usb to 1000hz and now that converter works flawlessly for me. At least I think it’s flawless.

i think i have some goo gone somewhere i use it after i peel of the parking violations i get at college :wgrin:
