to whoever negged me if you want to know why it cost so much just send me a PM. lol.
If you want stiffer “clackier” buttons, try out seimitsu instead of sanwa. I think it’s the perfect ground between the two.
What type of buttons click like a mouse button? A custom sf4 arcade cabinet in a store here has those. They’re curved inwards at the top, and not as big as sanwa/hori’s.
Er, what?
The Real Arcade Pro line has always used a Sanwa stick, but not buttons (presumably to save on cost). So many people who buy the sticks mod the buttons anyway, so they periodically release editions that already have Sanwa or Semitsu parts in them.
They’re cheaper, crappy, and die much faster.
If they’re curved inwards then they’re almost certainly using Happ/iL concave buttons.
the sanwa stick on hrap3 is the same sanwa stick on the te correct?
I think we’re all in agreement that Hori buttons generally suck. but i’ve heard a lot of top player (specifically ST players) say they prefer Hori sticks over sanwa/siemitsu’s.
have one SE and one EX2.
The stick i feel better the hori’s,and modded with sanwa buttons it feels great.
And yes,it’s so clicky,i love it.
As someone who has taken out the TE stick and handled plenty of stick replacements in T5 cases, yes, the TE Sanwa JLF is identical to the one Hori uses in the HRAP cases. The problem parts people encounter in the TE are NOT the Sanwa-provided parts but the parts MadCatz sources from elsewhere. The Sanwa parts are the same parts Hori puts into its HRAP and HRAP SA/SE series.
As far as the Hori stick itself goes, I don’t care for the stock ones in the FS cases or the T5 for that matter. I think they’re lower grade and certainly have fewer options for upgrades and mods than the Sanwa or Seimitsu sticks. I kept some of the parts from my T5 stock sticks (balltops, shafts, actuators, spring holders, pivot, actual base minus the garbage switches) for possible resale or future mods. I have reused the Hori springs since they’re essentially the same as the Sanwa springs to increase tension in JLF sticks.
I did recycle parts of a Wii Fight Stick (ball handle, shaft, pivot, spring holder, actuator) into a JLF base for a mod since I didn’t want to deal with shaving down the Sanwa JLF shaft to fit into the base nor did I find the Hori T5 shaft a good fight, either. Ironically, the T5 shaft was too tall and stuck up awkwardly for the faceplate – the opposite problem of the JLF shaft! My Frankenstein joystick functions smoothly, though.
