yea its 6mm taller than it should be. i havent gotten around solving the problem. I only have one or two solutions. One of them is to cut off the shaft from the top and rethread it. another solution maybe to add a plexiglass on top but id have to rip the stock graphics off the sciv stick =(
ive tried to swap the shaft from the hori stick (mixing parts around) and didnt work at all. you will have to use the hori stick and only use the sanwa gates.
Err, sorry for bumping this thread but uh I have this stick somewhere around my room with a dead PCB and crap Hori buttons (360). I was pretty much wondering what kind of joy stick did they use for this version.
I’m not familiar with the “looks” of joysticks to find out.
I had one of these a while back when they first came out. Ended up selling it this year for $50 since I never really used it and it was practically brand new. Was a good stick, I kind of miss it now.
All mass-manufactured sticks have at least 8 buttons.
It’s hopeless.
“Laugh.”
You could always not use the two buttons you choose to reject. This is not difficult, but does require some self-control and a lack of pity that those buttons’ microswitches may forever remain virgins.
Most mass-manufactured sticks with 6 buttons will likely be the source of a complaint thread that involves the cases being too small and therefore worthless. A few months later a similar thread addressing the high shaft of JLF units in such poor cases will likely surface.
Your best option is to make a custom stick. Just get a shoe box and start cutting. Good luck~
hi everyone, sorry to resurrect an old thread, figured it would be better than creating a new one. my friend has the xbox 360 sc4 hori stick. he’s willing to sell it to me for a good price, but im wondering if it could be maybe because he wore it down already hehe. does thing break down easily? will it be good enough for Marvel vs capcom 3? or should i wait for something else coming soon? thanks for the inputs. (btw, money is a big issue for me, that why im considering a second hand one…) im also wondering if i should get a joystick with an 8 button layout already to make sure i could use it for any other fighting game … or maybe not even just fighting games…
These things are totally subjective, but I did own a Hori EX2 [effectively the same stick with different art] and I wasn’t impressed. The stick part is ok, but the buttons are no good, and as Markman said earlier, your hand does feel cramped with it.
A friend of mine showed me his TE, and I waited a month til payday and got that instead - well worth the wait. I know you say that money is tight, but it’d be worth trying it out and seeing what you thought first.
Another approach if you are technically minded, is to buy the TvC stick and mod that up - over this side of the pond it’s cheaper to buy the TvC stick and a Mad catz pad (easy to mod) than buy the EX2!
