HORI PS4/PS3 Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Stick

Seriously. That placement of the analog stick module lol. I laughed.

Why not analog nubs? They would fit rather well on the beveled edge, just under the lever and buttons.
With such a placement, one could actually use the analog controls and buttons simultaneously.

I’d hit it.

That would have been very interesting.

What took you so long to realize that?

Because that whole assembly with the analogs is probably removable.

I don’t give DOA that much thought. Its a fighting game series I don’t take seriously.

Any recent words on whether or not this stick is going to be full sanwa?

Unless Hori states otherwise it looks like they are sticking to their in house Hayabusa Joystick and Kuro buttons.

As far as Hori told me, HRAP v4 is still being produced, but will not be back in stock until February.

Never really been a fan of the Vewlix panel case for personal sticks.
Where’s all the Lindbergh designs already?

Dang. I contacted Hori about whether they had any plans to release this stick stateside. This was their response.

So maybe they’ll be releasing a generic version with the same body/features. I’d actually be more interested in that.

So this is the same body (basically) as the XB1? Is the cable compartment door improved at all?

Yeha, why do i get creepy sexual thoughts when I look at stick and its analog sticks?

On a more serious note, I hope it doesnt have Kuro buttons in it, I hate those things now that I bought them and one is giving me problems less than a month in.

Oh Hori.

I have swaped out the Kuro buttons in my Hrap v4 right away.

I decided to pick this up out of technical curiosity in regards to the analog sticks. Speaking of, my immediate first impression is that this is not a lap stick unless you remove the analog module. It looks like it can be pretty easily removed with a few screws; not sure what the inside looks like yet, though, as I haven’t braved that far.

Either way, here’s some unboxing images if anyone’s interested: https://imgur.com/a/JPyPV#0

All metal bottom with no felt, either… Good thing I’ll be using this mostly on a desk.

Edit: Added pictures of the insides. Looks like the analog module can indeed be easily removed. Insides are a little cramped… I noticed there’s an unused 6 pin connector next to the 5 pin connection for the joystick. I have high hopes that this is the same pcb they used for the silent Hayabusa stick and that this is an easy connection for a 6 pin optical stick, but I don’t know anything when it comes to something that advanced.

Looks almost like the DOA stick has the same PCB as the Hrap V4.

Actually, it doesn’t, as far as I can tell.
Based on a picture that you took of the innards of your HRAP V4, it looks like a different PCB. This one (the DoA5LR one) has the face-button contacts on the short side of the PCB (the V4 seems to have them on the long side), and there’s at least one extra pin header in the middle of the PCB for the analog module.

I remember the Hrap V4 PCB have a few blank spots for headers
I don’t think I can had a touch pad, but maybe the touch pad clicker?

Left: this DoA5LR stick’s PCB, as posted by @Chikalin here in this thread
Right: the HRAPV4 Hayabusa’s PCB, as posted by @Darksakul in the HRAPV4 thread

Note the different location of headers, and even the different model/part number.
The epoxied chip is also located on different sides of the PCB; on the DoA5LR stick, it’s on the “connector-side” with all the connectors and mostly traces, whereas on the HRAPV4 PCB, it’s on the “parts-side” where the majority of the surface mounted components are.
