Hori Pro.V3 SA and VX SE Kai (Exclusive Special Edition)

Which SE made it stateside, other than the HRAP EX-SE?

What pics do you want? Let me know.

All of the pics I’ve seen look like renderings or have superimposed art. I would love to see a front and 3/4 shot of the 360 version, as well as a close-up of the turbo panel (i’ve seen differing images). Thanks in advance if you find the time!

Also… where to buy one of this in Japan? I be at softmap and traders but hold only the vx-sa common one (some used really cheap I have to say).

Any update Markman? I see preorders are up on Newegg and Dascheap. Can you confirm that you can switch the functionality of the joystick on the 360 version from dpad to the analog sticks?

I just noticed that Newegg has the wrong picture for the 360 version, it has it listed as VX SA “Kai” but shows a VX SE “Kai”…man I wish they actually had an SE:(

He’s probably gonna get back to you after the weekend, he’s currently in Japan for SBO.

Strange. Looks like only the PS3 version has the “stick control toggle switch” to choose between the dpad and analog sticks (see images of turbo panels):

Yeah sorry, I’m away from home right now. I’ll get back to you soon.

The current VX SA has no switch either.

Exactly. That’s part of the appeal of the Kai version for me.

Funny that no other retailers have started pre-selling this yet. Newegg shows its release date as 8/28

I ordered one through Hori this weekend. I will post some pics once I receive it if anything stands out, but I think that dascheap review took care of everything. Still curious to see if the 360 version can switch between d-pad and analog sticks for playing obscure games.

I’m pretty sure I’m in the minority for caring so much about this stick, but I really wanted this case in black without game-specific art (and without having to add plexi).

I don’t necessarily think that’s it – caring one way or the other.

The problem is that this is an older stick design re-issue with minor changes and it’s happening in the midst of a year where we’ve seen (almost?) a half-dozen new designs debut on top of recolors/new-style customized versions of the TE-S and Qanba lines.

Let’s face it – the Fighting Edge took the spotlight this summer. Many people still are contemplating or buying the Soul Calibur V joystick while it’s on sale for half the cost of the FE and $40 less than the HRAP V Kai revamps…

I suppose. With the exception of the Fighting Edge, all other sticks were just that…re-issues with new art. I just don’t find the SCV stick’s start-button door, or the equally-gimmicky FE’s touch panel, appealing. I’ve grown to love the shape and simplicity of the VX-SA. The only other stick that has my attention, if it ever comes to fruition, is the Razer stick.

Artwork looks great in person (the grey-looking areas are silver) and is glossy. No ability to switch from d-pad to analog sticks. switches are for switching button sets (back & start, LB & RB, etc).

Thx for the pic! Looks nice. View of the underside? Your thoughts on the bigger spacing between the stick & buttons?

Underside looks exactly like the pic at the top of this page. The felt material feels pretty solid and durable. The spacing between the buttons is nice. It’s not terribly noticeable, but feels a little more natural to me.

Is the felt material as thick as the one used in a VLX? It doesn’t look like it but better than not having anything.
