uhhhhhhhhh yeah

0-1 hours

No, I’m just apocalypticly bad at this game.
And I still insist on playing as MODOK.

Honzo, how does it feel like to be a pimp?

It’s ok, so am I. Though I can do minute long Dante combos, Dr. Doom/Viper/Magneto/Zero loops with DHC tricks and all that jazz, I’m still terrible at this game. 90% of it comes from the fact that I play Chris and Hsien-Ko, the other 10% is because I use Taskmaster as an anchor. I don’t care what anyone says, that skull-wearing, six-pack wielding hunk is nothing special when there’s no one to help him get in - not even XF cures him of the fact that he’s predictable as hell to block.

Mister Honzo, what’s your second favorite Fighting Game of all time?
Which was the first you ever played?
Which did you play the most? (MvC3 counts if you plan on playing it until the AE comes around)

Way to skip over my Pokemon question.

Streaming question:
How do you go about mixing your mic with your smooth jazz and gameplay sound so that people can still hear you speak? Do you use a regular mixer or do you use software like virtual audio cable?

This might sound ridiculous… But what can I do against Wesker as Wolverine?

Also, how do you open someone up with Ryu? Right now my general Ryu strategy is to use beam hyper to punish full screen, use lots of Hadokens and try to open them up with air light Tatsu… But I always have a problem actually hitting them into a combo.

btw, my team’s Wolv/Ryu/Sent

You can do a lot against Wesker as Wolverine. Wolverine pretty much has the same strategy against everyone: instant overheads with j.L, crossups with Berserker Slash, and divekicks. You’ve got Sentinel, so set him to Drones (Charge), call them out, and go to town on him. You can blow Wesker up pretty easily with Wolverine imo. You can also use Ryu’s Tatsu assist (Though it’s not as good as Akuma’s obviously), and use that for mixups.

Same idea here with Ryu. Call out Sent Drones and move in for the kill. If they do anything but block, they’re gonna caught. And if you happen to be one of the many Ryus I’ve played that just spam cr.L, don’t do that either. Sent Drones can help Ryu combo off his 6M overhead, so definitely do mixups with that, as well as Crossups with j.S.

Berserker Slash with Tatsu or successful Drones call. c.L spam until he push blocks and do it all over again. Even if he jumps, he’s going to be jump canceled back onto the ground. And if he calls Tron or Haggar, it won’t affect you because Berserker Slash has invulnerability frames and you sit behind Wesker where they can’t touch you. If you want mix ups, instead of Berserker Slash, super jump dive kick. Don’t let him get any ground, don’t let him start pistol spam, and keep him afraid to push any buttons.

Ryu’s only inside is Tatsu L. Sometimes it can cross up, other times it won’t. If it doesn’t open them up, you better pray their Invulnerability assist doesn’t come out or they don’t turn their own harass game around on you. And once they start to understand Ryu’s pressure-game, they won’t really have much of a problem dealing with him anyone. When that time comes, it’s best to just drop Ryu and pick up someone with better mix ups/unblockables. As stated with all low tier: The only reason they gets in is because nobody knows what to do against them.

Alright, so if he jumps, I should just stand on the ground and wait for him to come back down? My main problem is just that, whenever he jumps and I try to jump up and get him, I eat a pistol to the face and we all know what happens after that.

Also, I just have a problem with Haggar in general… That dude always bodies me

From the very beginning you should sit on him; allowing him any room will give him set ups. Push into him, jump if he jumps, grab if he grabs, get your assist out as safely as possible. If he super jumps, wave dash back and forth (Or dash altogether) for a free mix up (You can beat gun’s speed with just a dash). If he calls Haggar, cr.L to keep him in blockstun, call your own assist when lariat ends and then start your mixups. The moment your pressure gets out, even calling Haggar or Tron will make him crap his pants. If he’s in the corner, juke command grab or get him to whiff a grab. If he normal jumps at all, berserker slash is almost a guaranteed mix up every time.

Haha alright, thanks guys! I don’t think I was playing relentless enough with my Wolvie, I always let Wesker dictate the pace while I tried to catch him on mistakes I’ll try this next time I play.

Thanks again guys

yes

the same

my 2nd favorite fighting game is either vanillia or ssf4
ever? Marvel super heroes or sf 2
Well at home, vanillia sf I actually put 300-400 hours plus back in my youth, but if you count going to weeklies and majors then mvc3

ok old setup: everything was routed through my computer, and mixed using VAC
new setup: game audio is sent into the mixer, so I can listen to the audio on a headphone and then is sent back into the computer to be mixed with the microphone.

I purchased a new headset that will theoritcally make it so I can listen and talk on the same headset, instead of having two seperate things.
If I ever stream events/have guests I’ll probably buy another headset and buy two xlr converters so peeps can talk.

wolverine=call drones, mash mixups, ???, profit. I wish there was more to him, but yeah gs capcom.

ryu isn’t a bad character, so don’t drop him. With ryu its less about mixups and more about out prioritizing them. Ryus light tatsu, j. s, c m all have retarted priority, that puts them in decent block stun to set up an overhead (more applicable in ult) or continious pressure. Outpoking someone is a pretty good way to hit them since his c M has a low hurtbox. Also remember to apply throw pressure. How many times have you’ve seen chris g’s ryu throw? My guess is a lot.

Thanks for the answers good sir Honzo, even for the more silly ones (Lol, they’ve all been silly). It’s Serious question time though…

Did Tron have Gustaffe Fire in MvC2? (I can’t remember because I never saw anyone use it if she did) And whose ****ing bright idea was it to give the damn thing invulnerability? I swear, the number of times I’ve knifed that 5 year old’s feet and been punished because super anime battle armor toes are immune to pain is ridiculous.

[Edit] Will you watch Black Bible with me?

no she did not, and if she did it was bad. She did have a ray like projectile assist that was glitched, so it didn’t scale, which essentially gave you a free 45 unscaled damage in any combo. Imagine an assist doing unscaled 300k and you get similiar results, so she could be worse. It was the G guy that seth killian loves. He makes most of the bad desicions.
yes

I bet you ten to one with how rushed some aspects of MvC3 are, someone forgot to put a hitbox on Tron (Or it’s a bug) and only until she returns to standing stance/taunt stance can she be punished. I say that because there is no way in Bible Black Hell someone actually sat down and said to themselves, “Let’s give this bitch a flame thrower with tons of invulnerability frames and call it balanced.”

My place? Or… My place?
Naked? Or… Naked?

no it was intentional, they wanted some aspects of mvc2 still there, so the hardcore marvel nuts wouldn’t get angry. I.E they can’t mash out psylocke anymroe so they need to mash out a different bullshit assist. Then every1 hated it, as much as everyone would hate a psylocke assist being in the game. It’s just a different game, and they relized this and are starting to back track on the inclusion of mvc2 mechanics. Which is eveidenced by them nerfing invincible assists.
and yes to both
