Yes the Toki OVA is out and it’s decent. Jesus beam makes an appearance.
The women look more feminine but art seems more plain. Animation and art during the Toki-Raoh fight is a bit different especially.

They havent improved the OVAs at all and learned from the previous ones.

So, Toei is taking HnK in English in its own hands by subbing HnK episodes and selling them digitally. Had no idea this was going on, but they haven’t started apparently. I wonder if a new dub is on the way as well. It’d be fantastic if the manga saw a full release as well. I’d support the hell out of those.

…but…why the heck do Ryuken and Ken look like HnK Kenshiro? I thought Ryuken wasn’t blood related to Kenshiro?
Actually that is the ryuken of the regular Hnk series when he was younger. Kenshiro of Snk is his half brother and ryuken name the baby kenshiro after his older brother because both of them was born with the same big dipper birth mark on their heads.
No no no no no, I am asking why HnK Kenshiro looks like SnK Ryuken and SnK Kenshiro when they are not even Blood related.

Finally finished the Raoh Arc :p(after rewatching episodes I liked without making any progress for like a month.), starting HnK2 and am planning to get caught up on SnK since I stopped on ep 2. Still no information on Ten No Haoh, but yea, finishing the Raoh Arc, am I the only one who actually likes the 80s series more than the new gaiden ovas? Besides the fact the new ovas take several storyline liberties like the 1980’s movie did, I just like the old series better overall, even though the movies have much better animation.
EDIT: Btw, would anyone know if there was a place I could get Ai Wo Torimodose as a ringtone?
I watched like half of the first OVA and it was very off putting because of the new VA’s. Kenshiro wasn’t Kenshiro, Raoh was definitely not Raoh, and Souther got really screwed. Nobody could hope to emulate his awesomely deep voice and it sucked that they didn’t even try.
^definetly agree there, Raoh/Souther’s old seiyuu > new. Raoh’s final scene in Gekitou no Shou was a little too fast paced for me compared to the epic end in the series.
Not only that, but most of the new OVAs were just eye candy. I hope that after the Kenshiro OVA, which Im not too hopeful about seeing as they havent improved their game at all throughout the movies, that we see something post SHnK.
OMFG, Art of War, the people who make the Berserk statues and merchandise, have picked up Hokuto no Ken as an addition to their line. Why the OMFG? Because they’re starting with a Raoh helmet O_O.

Ten No Haoh website has gotten a small update, now there’s more of an actual site, the prologue/music sections can be clicked but not much there yet.
