Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

I’m still having quite a lot of probs with the 2 player side and especially with 2x QCF. Doing the finger dexterity exercises a lot but still no improvement…that’s gonna be really hard. Probably it’s just me
I think I’m also doing too hard and I’m not relaxed enough…don’t know :frowning:

One question: I found out that it’s also possible for Ultras to hold down, tap forward twice (while releasing down) to get it, instead of rolling d,f,d,f properly. Which method are u guys usually using? To which should I better get used to?
Interestingly the FADC (e.g. Cody’s HK Ruff FADC) is pretty easy for me to pull off (already easier than pad), just the following U1 seems to be impossible for me atm :frowning:

Btw: I still have a keystick to sell…lucky to have a HitBox and a custom stick now

Those finger exercises (and Hit Box’s execution overall) doesn’t happen overnight, you have to keep doing it and keep practicing. As for the ultra shortcut you mentioned, a 23236 can get you ultra, but it’s a really bad habit and you shouldn’t rely on it too much. Just keep doing the finger exercises and rolling QCFx2 in training mode on both ides and you’ll get it down.

I finally went to place my order today and got to paypal twice and after I entered all my payment info and it starts to go through I just get sent to the log hitbox. Also each time it gave me different options of acceptable ways to pay, like the first time it said you can do from bank, and the second time it said you couldn’t which is what it said last night when I checked to see how i could order it through paypal. Is there a way to make sure you guys dont sell me two if it did go through. Also a thank you for your order screen would be nice instead of a screen that makes you think nothing happened at all if that is the case.

also side note: I didn’t see the high tension buttons on any of the pictures of the change to same face buttons. Do you know longer use those? :frowning:

That’s exactly why I asked. I expected that shortcut to be a bad habit. I’ll keep training, I already found that the learning curve is much better than switching pad to stick. FADC is not a prob.

We double check all transactions, if we get two separate orders from one address we cancel one, and if PayPal shows that the same person on separate occasions sent us money we negate a transaction. We do as much as we possibly can to both protect our customers and ourselves (as much as we love you guys, we don’t intend on sending you a Hit Box for free).

And by high tension butons do you mean the Happ buttons we used on older cases? We got rid of them because the Happ dealer was constantly messing up orders and giving us faulty product so we made a case that uses all Sanwa so we could guarantee quality in our product.

Just got mine!

This is definitely going to get some used to. Damn ring finger is by far the most problematic. Must not give up!

As for ps360 pcb it sounds like akishop should be shipping them out later this month (maybe). If that is the case, can we anticipate dual mods to start shipping by the end of october?

I can’t say when we’ll be shipping them, but it’ll be as fast as we can.

Also the half circle trick described earlier works really well for. For a left facing half circle (63214) imagine pressing right (6) followed by a quarter circle (214). This helps because it slows down the ring finger. In general a weak ring finger wants to follow the middle finger. This results in the ring finger landing too soon rather than too late. The trick is to focus on the middle finger’s landing and to let the ring finger follow in a natural way.

That was my first impression, don’t give up. I’m still crap, but it feels better and better. Keep going, u will soon be better. Try not doing stuff too fast, start slowly and get faster…that will really help. And most important: “hold” the last input, that’s MY biggest problem. I always forget forward (e.g. Ultras)
If u wanna have training fights with HitBox let me know. It’ll help us getting used to it.

@JohnGrimm: You guys do a great job! Thanks for everything.

Oh man  thats awesome ! Cuanto te tardo en llegar?

We should do an online tourney hitbox only lol!

Hey JohnGrimm,
I got my confirmation email on being able to buy the HitBOX last week. I sent an email back saying that I would like to wait until the PS3/Xbox360 dual mod is available and to be put in the line for that. Did you get my email?

I have a PS3, but all of my local tourneys are exclusively on Xbox360, which is why I need to have the dual mod.

If you didn’t get my email, let me know and I’ll send you a PM. Thanks

Could you guys post the current waitlist and exact position for each person for the dual modded hitbox? I am certain there are plenty of people who ordered months ago that are curious about where they stand in the waitlist for when the dual modded sticks come out.

Also it will help those that are worrying about their inquiry dates not being changed to know if they got their spot secured since they registered before may to get one.

I don’t personally handle the e-mail, but it’s pretty safe to say we got it. We’ll let you know when we have a box for you.

We don’t have any plans to post the list for business reasons, so all we’re going to say is be patient. Also, our site is undergoing some renovations at the moment and hopefully the inquiry date will be fixed. If not, you’re going to have to trust me when I say your spot in line is secured from when you actually inquired and we’re going to make sure you don’t lose your spot in line.

After around maybe 8 hours of training sessions, the only thing I can do consistently on a joystick that I still can’t do on a hitbox is a 2p shoryuken/TK shoryuken 100% consistently. My left hand ring finger just refuses to cooperate. (1p TK shoryuken 100% of the time feels AWESOME however)

After that, it’s just a matter of remembering that the down button is down, not up and vice versa. :stuck_out_tongue:

PS. Ivy CS is a b***** on a hitbox. Would need to study 360 motions all over again. The thing is though, once you get it down, you never miss it after that.

So I’m looking to get a fighstick of sorts for the first time. I had intended on sticking to a normal ps3 controller but at some point I reached a cap and I feel that instead of improving, a normal controller is only holding me back. For a while, I’ve been preparing to get a MCZ TE stick, mainly for MvC3 and one of the features that interested me the most was it’s ability to be modded and personalized, both from a functional standpoint as well as a purely cosmetic one. I’ve even gotten back to photoshopping so that I can get the designs I want down before I buy, as well as researched the components I would need otherwise.

Now, however, I’m considering the hitbox. I used to play a lot of mugen with the keyboard a few years back and i feel like using the hitbox, I’ll feel right at home after a little bit of practice. But before I buy, I do have a few questions and I was wondering if I could be helped.

Basically:

  • Can the hitbox be custom art modded.

I know that you are trying to mass produce, and as such, expecting you guys to do custom art for everyone is simply too much. Moreso, is there a way to place my own printed art on the hitbox, via swapping or otherwise, and if not, is it possible that in the future, the will be a clear plexiglass panel on top of a normal panel the holds the art, instead of the art in the plexiglass itself. I’m really big on personalization. It makes me feel like an object is really mine, one of a kind to a degree and as such, even if there isn’t any customization possible at the moment, I can be content with a regular TE until the hitbox allows it if there are future plans.

Aside from that, if something goes wrong with it, will there be a warranty? And if so, who/how can I contact and send it back for repairs/etc.? (opening and modding not withstanding because I expect that will void any warranty) there didn’t seem to be a way to contact you guys on your site so I’m just a little interested to know.

I will say, the hitbox looks amazing and from experience, using your fingers can be a lot more reliable than a joystick at times so I’m really interested in it. Not saying I won’t buy if there is no art modding, but if there are plans, I’d rather wait than rush it.

for a 2p shoryuken, I start by practicing alternating between my ring finger and pointer finger. In other words just practice tapping left/right/left. A 2p shoryuken is almost the same motion but you substitute the middle finger in place of the pointer. After that, you just have to remember to hold down your middle finger in order to get a true diagonal.

I think the answer you’ll get is : “Not at the moment, have too focus on the main business” (which is understandable), but the guys can tell u themselves

What I can tell u is, that if you know someone who is good at artwork, plexi cutting, etc…it’s a piece of cake to change the top plexi of your HitBox. The Top Plexi Cover is added on the top of the box (no frame around the plexi (if that makes sense), easy to exchange if u wanna do your own one.

@soraky: so your main problem is the ring finger? You can get down a qcf 2x but not a SRK? Weird, for me it’s the other way around. Did u watch the HitBox SRK-Vid? You also get it by holding forward, tapping down, Punch
@HitBox-Team: great new Tutorial Vid. The new style with the on screen buttons is cool!

No, it’s more TK SRK, not just SRK (although my 2p SRK is still around 90%, 10% less than what I want it to be).

I did better than watch the hitbox vid, I saw the Dustin do it with my own eyes. :stuck_out_tongue: He alternates between his right and left thumb for the jump button though, something that I don’t want to do – I want my left hand to be purely movement, right hand to be purely commands.

Slowly but surely getting there.

Actually, he used his left thumb to show how awkward using your left thumb for jump is. He only uses his right thumb for TK’s and I highly suggest you do the same. When you break up the work between both your hands everything becomes a lot easier, and using your right thumb to jump makes doing TK’s on both sides feel similar.
