Hey CEO of Darkness, can you give me a date for when you put yourself in the waiting list? I myself did it August 1st or 2nd. It seems the average waiting is about 2+ months give or take at the moment. Pretty fast considering the popularity. Then again I’m sure a bunch of those in the waiting list are probably waiting for xbox360/dual versions and not ps3 only :(.
For me is gonna take a while… all the long road to Mexico, but Im closer to the frontline so at least that’s something!
So new hitbox users! do some videos! reviews!
I put myself on the list July 15th. I got friends that know how to mod shit so if its like any other stick i’m sure they can slap whats needed in there to make it worth on both in there so i don’t have to wait for a dual version. Just like to be prepared and not bitch about what system i’m playing on, i just wanna be prepared
Put my order in on July 14th and got my invoice on the night of Aug 31. It looks like so far, the 7-8 week waiting period is consistent.
Mhh where can I see the exact date of our order?
mmmm got my tracking, expected to see it on the 3rd
I’m in the UK, due to the stupid english post it’s still not here. Package is already in the UK since 3 days but not moving on
I had the idea to make a video with few motions (halfcircle, 360, 720), FADC, etc and probably a review vid. Don’t have much time atm.
I was thinking of making some trials video on SSF4 showing the hitbox layout(modded TE) but I don’t know if it will really be really interesting.
So far I keep progressing, i can do chickens wings and hooligan throws at will thanks to the right thumb. Lately I managed to do two times a 720 in training/trials but it’s still hardcore for me.
go back and check your email. you should have received a confirmation email from hitbox on the day you joined the waiting list.
LOL!
My primary email got deleted! xD
So I asked the hitbox team and they said that I would not lose my preorder since I added a lot of emails in the additional info just in case xD
That means I just have to wait until I get my email confirmation… oh well patience is a virtue right?
edit: @Thanks at the guys that are going to review any info is good
I never received a confirmation email when I joined the waiting list, but when I type my email address into the “Check My Waiting List Status” box on their website it says I’m on the waiting list. I hope I receive my email when my turn comes up.
Hi guys I wanted to know if anyone here has dual modded their hit box and if so what pcb did you use and did it keep the left + right neutral…I currently have the PS3/PC verison…Info would be greatly appreciated.
Got some questions.
Can I place my order for a 360 HitBox?
Can I get custom art?
Can I get clear push buttons if I wish?
Are you guys planing on doing something about the cable?
We’re still trying to get a 360 PCB, so not at the moment you can’t order a 360 Hit Box. It’s coming soon, but not now.
Custom art currently isn’t an option, but it’s something we’re looking at. Since we’re trying to mass produce these, it would be unfeasible to do custom art for everyone who wanted it.
We currently do not offer clear push buttons since they’re so expensive, and it’s another form of customization that a mass produced product simply can’t offer to everyone who wants them.
Do you mean the USB cable? If so, we’ve already handled any issues with the USB cable in a way that we think will please everyone. I’m not going to say exactly what it is right now, but when people get their boxes I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Good to hear this since I was worried about the usb cable
I cant get necro 's hook punch to come out 100% of the time only about 70 to 80, but I can get Dudley Mgun punch to come out all the time. Is it me or the SF3 online edition or the hitbox. Someone test this out as well please.
Also how do I do 360 and 720s on the hitbox?
first impressions:
Just got my hitbox with hot orange buttons today. Have to say I’m really impressed with the overall design, ease of use, and lightning fast shipping. I waitlisted on July 14th, ordered on Aug. 31st, the box shipped on Sept 1 and I received it today.
In terms of the product itself, the overall design looks great. There are a few seams that I wish weren’t showing but that may just be my own personal aesthetic. The box is light (lighter than a madcatz TE but similar to a Hori RAP V.3) and has a surface area similar to that of 17-19" laptop(don’t quote me on that, I’m just eyeballing it). The buttons are strikingly small and may take some practice but the layout’s curvature feels very natural. Some people have said they have trouble finding a comfortable wrist position but I had no problem just keeping it on my lap.
As for the transition from a fightstick to a box, I was pulling off fairly complicated moves after a few minutes. In 15 minutes I had found the right feel for specials and supers as well as my BnB combos. I was even able to do some things that I thought I might have trouble with (ex: air fireballs, instant air fireballs, backwards DP’s) Like I said before the only real challenge for me at this point is getting the feel of the smaller buttons which I think I could get down after a few sessions.
The only real cons I see right now are mostly in the realm of the customer service experience. I still wish I could have had a few updates on my wait time. I know the guys in Nevada are working hard but I (and many others) really do want to watch the pot boil. Once I got the box I was a little disappointed to see that the packing process was a little half baked with padding basically tied to the box with masking tape. Luckily I didn’t have any tape actually touching the box because I’d be pretty bummed to have a brand new hitbox with tape residue. The purchasing process was a little clunky and the email with my tracking number did not have embedded links to the tracking website. This meant I had to cut and paste the website then tab back to my email and cut/paste the tracking number. And before someone trolls me on that last comment let me just say: Am I being snatchy about small details? Yeah absolutely. But the hitbox is fairly expensive as far as fightsticks go and the people at HB are asking us to take a risk by investing money into something we may not (but probably will) like.
Overall I love my new hitbox and may even take it for a test run at Season’s Beatings in October. Is it going to make me a better player? maybe. Is it going to increase my awesomeness level? Definitely. The guys making these boxes deserve credit for making a great product at a respectable price. This is exactly the kind of innovation that makes for a great start to a startup business.
Thanks for the review. I would to be worried about the small details about my HitBox, because I don’t have that much money and I would like my product taken care of. Plus, aren’t these guys like new, so I hope they don’t just be careless with packaging.
For anyone that has a HitBox I have some questions, I have never owned a fight stick or an expensive pad for FGs. I just played them on my 360 controller. Though lately I’ve been playing MK9 a lot, and I wanted to get something decent to play with it, and IMO, I thought the HitBox would be perfect.
The only thing that worries me is, when I try to go beyond MK with other fighters like SF, TakkenXSF, SG, etc, will it be REALLY difficult or not efficient to play with the HitBox since unlike MK, those FGs require more complex motions than just directional inputs. Will I hinder myself with not playing with a stick for other FGs besides MK9? I just don’t want to screw myself, and get something that will only be useful for one game, I want to use it for other FGs to.
So to anyone that is good with games other than MK, are you able to do combos, and other important things with the HitBox as well as the stick? Or is it not efficient, or ‘worth it’?
Thank You, for anyone that answers in details. This is going to be my first serious investment and I’m debating between a Stick/HitBox.
BTW, anyone with a HitBox, how would you do instant air FBs with Kabal in MK9? If you can show a video, I’d appreciate it greatly!
Has there been any word on the 360 boards? I’ve been on the waiting list for a couple months, since about march i think when i sent them an email putting me on the list. All i know is at the time company that made the pcb boards was making a new version of the dual mod.
