Reading all the juiciness and seeing the video makes me want my hitbox to arrive in the mail already…grrr…why is your product so enticing JohnGrimm??? (insert over the top unnecessary dramatic reaction here) XD
Thanks, I totally didn’t take into account the fact that you can hold down/up and double tap left/right, or vice versa. That pretty much answers my only real qualm about the stick. Now I can’t wait. Thanks again upa. The more and more you guys talk about the hitbox, the more it’s looking like the most efficient form of control for fighting games.
Two more questions though. What are your coloring options for the face buttons? Also, you said you guys were considering changing the start/select buttons to Sanwas. Is that still one of your considerations, and if so, any expected time frame for that change? Thanks, phew.
Also have a great 4th of July weekend everyone.
Just curious, does anyone know if any ps360 hitboxes were sold before the ps360 pcb shortage?
and were those SOCD fixed? and how hard would it be to fix the SOCD?
They were all sold before the shortage hit and yes, they were fixed for SOCD. Not in the same way as our PS3 PCB’s, but incapable of SOCD never the less.
My hitbox just showed, and honestly it was smaller than I expected. But I still totally love it. It’ll take a lot of work. I’m having some trouble getting used to QCB and back-shoryuken motions, other than that, I love it and motions are so much easier. My best bud is playing infamous currently so I can’t test it out. But I will let you know how it is for Street Fighter, Tekken 6, and MvC3. Can’t wait, so exciting!!!
Questions:
Is there some sort of template available so we can print our own artwork to pop in? Is the situation with the dual mods that you dont currently know if dual mods will ever be available or do you figure they will definitely be available but not in the short term, etc?
I didnt realize it until just now but I got my founders’ letter a week ago and I just missed it. The decision to take the PS3 one or wait is very hard
Well we can’t give you a template with the button holes, but the dimensions of our boxes are 12 inches wide by 6 inches tall. I’m sure you can figure something out in Photoshop with that. As for the dual mod situation, there’s no way to tell when they’ll be available, we just have to wait for Akishop to start producing again.
Not something I would do, especially since I have a stick, but I am prone to clawing* controllers so I can reach the face buttons without an analog stick, and it would be a fairly natural position for me and I could consistently do it. I don’t exactly see a reason, it could technically be done with the last 2 buttons on an 8 button stick(have one left and one right) to counter the movement of the joystick. It would take around 10 minutes to do with a regular TE.
*In case you didn’t know, clawing is the practice of holding a controller like this but I use the trigger with my ring finger in most cases and have 2 fingers on the face of the controller.
If you remove the buttons, trace the control panel onto a piece of paper, including the holes, then take a full size scan of it, and save as a .PSD, then you’ve got a pretty good template to work with.
It’d be cool if Hit Box offered artwork customization straight from the source, though. Maybe make it like Arcade-In-A-Box, where the customer can choose from several standard templates, I’m guessing they could be “Hit Box” themed, or, for an extra charge, allow them to submit their own. No copyrighted materials, though.
So, slight issue, and I don’t know if it’s an oversight in the construction of mine itself, or in general. But as I was playing around with the hitbox last night I noticed 2 odd things. 1) when I hit left and right at the same time it doesn’t go neutral, but instead left overwrites right and I just walk left continuously, regardless of the side I’m facing. 2) when I hit down and up at the same time, instead of just being neutral as was the intent, it makes me jump right (regardless of which side I’m facing.
Is there anyway to easily fix that? Or is it something I just have to deal with? Either way is fine. As I truly feel that it’s not something that’ll allow me to quote unquote break the game.
Lucky you, you got a dual mod box. I’m not sure if we tried to get a firmware to fix it so it’s like our PS3 box, but at the very least it doesn’t allow SOCD’s. Nothing wrong with it.
Oh well, sweet, I love it. The product is fantastic. xD
I am salt.
Currently waiting for a dual mod, but do you guys have PS3 only boxes in stock nonetheless? Thinking of going PS3 for now then just getting a converter later.
Is it ok to talk about the “hitbox playstyle” in this thread if you didn’t buy a Hitbox, or is that kind of poor form?
Maybe I should start a new thread in Fighting Discussion.

would you count that as a stickless arcade stick?
obviously not all of yous, but i myself have been playing on a keyboard on alpha and third strike and have been getting used to it, would you acctualy be allowed use one of these in a tournament ?
Depends on the tournament, and possibly on the keyboard or converter you use. Most BYOC competitions will allow keyboards.
You’re just waiting for the likes of Akishop to resume taking orders for the dual PCB, is that correct? That seems like it will definitely happen, its just a matter of time. Looks like I’m waiting!
As far as making my own template, my technical expertise in these matters is very poor and I’m not sure I would feel comfortable removing the buttons to trace the thing. I hope someone does this and makes it available though.
We do have some PS3 boxes and PS3 PCBs are much easier to get a hold of right now. If you don’t mind putting in the extra work yourself it’s a solid option. At the very least you’ll be able to play at EVO.
The thread is about the Hit Box in general, it’s not just about orders. If you want to talk about special techniques or execution tips feel free to say what comes to mind.
This thread is not about all stickless arcade sticks, it’s about the Hit Box specifically. Unless it has our layout it’s not relevant.
one of the mods just said it was bout stickless sticks. dev said it …
