No, probably not, and I donāt understand why this gets asked so much. The only fighting game thatās even been announced for the next gen consoles is killer instinct, which
Youāre probably hitting K too fast and havenāt entered your jump frames yet, thatās the most common problem with TKs on a hitbox. The easiest way to tell would be to just check the input display in training mode. One thing to cut down on any execution related finger gymnastics and subsequent errors; always remember that up overrides down on the ps360+ firmware meaning if you hold down and up, youāll get a jump. You donāt have to try and hit and release all the buttons in succession and hit K, you can just roll acros down, forward, then up and press kick without having to release or let any of them go so all you need are four evenly spaced downstrokes.
I mistyped the input,. Iām looking at d db b uf.
The problem Iām having with what you said about the rolling is that I donāt release the b button before pressing u. If you donāt release the b before pushing up, it will skip the b input, go straight to uf, and the burn kick doesnāt come out. Thatās the hardest thing Iām trying to do.
You may have some success by using your right thumb to hit up. Itās a bit to wrap your mind around, but having your right thumb jump into the inputs might cause just enough of a time difference to allow your left hand to get out the 2147 instead of 217. If you havenāt take some time and watch some of the videos on this page. http://www.hitboxarcade.com/blogs/videos After my initial play I sat down for the vids across different games and I found the knowledge useful.
I started using my right thumb and it helped. I started doing it before I read your post. I get the tiger knee motion and the delay (i can do rapid seismos without a problem). Itās just the instant burn kick is driving me nuts. I wasnāt sure if there was something missing about the input or another way on the hitbox to do them.
Just curious, do hitboxes ever go on sale? I built a custom stickless arcade stick using a case from tek-innovations, but I used a wireless 360 controller PCB. Iām thinking I should have a regular wired hitbox just in case, but Iām weighing my options. Might be cheaper to just buy a stick thatās on sale on Black Friday, and then order some buttons and a new top.
Also Iām curious, are custom wired stickless arcade sticks allowed at tournaments, or do they have to be an actual hitbox?
I should add that I feel stupid everytime I say āstickless arcade stickā. God I hate that name.
Far as I know the Official hit box is price to be as affordable as possible and the guys of Hitbox can still make a meager living.
Their Hit Boxes are much cheaper than going to a Tech Talk builder Pro and making a complete custom from scratch, and Hit box lacks the bulk and facilities of Mad Catz and Hori which keeps their cost down.
On average, Iād say their price is very fair, or at least itās fair for the PS3 model. But Iām really just looking at what opportunities will come up for Black Friday. If I can get a TE for super cheap and change the top and buttons, I might be able to save some cash. It really just comes down to how good the sales are, and how much a replacement top panel costs.
Also, I guess thatās a no, they donāt go on sale?
Actually Black Friday isnāt always the best for Arcade Stick prices.
Mad Catz offer special coupon codes right before Evo in honor of the Event where some sticks were as low as $80.
Last Christmas shopping season after Black Friday there was a buy one get one on select sticks.
As for actual sales on Hitbox, I havenāt seen any yet. ity will be up to Husser_Brian the founder to decide.
Also DIY mods or having a modder to mod it for you will not make your all button controller any cheaper.
Totally agree on the āBlack Fridayā thing. I got my MLG TE for $70 during EVO because of a perfect storm of a promo code and EVO price drop. Great deal.
You should either wait and see, or contact Husser_Brian. He might be able to elaborate on possible sales/promotions.
At first it feels like youāre trying to get the square block through the circle hole. After missions in marvel, training mode, Persona 4: Arena, and finally sitting down to play with my roommate for a few hours, I can say that Iāve completely adapted, and Iām better than I was on the controller. The only thing I find harder are regular tiger knees. Some things are easier though. Nearly everything super jump related is easier. Manual wave dashing is easier. The only downside is that I wouldnāt be comfortable using anyone elseās stick or using arcade cabinets. The last one hardly matters because Arcades are going extinct.
Hey hereās a bit of UMvC3 tech for you guys. Itās a literal cross between the plink dash and dash jump. This option select has been saving my life for a few months now, and I finally get to share it. Let me know if you guys like the new format too.
LOL if you read a page back(page 56 halfway down)zeththedarkmage posted that same guy who made that video actually had some shoutouts to Hitbox stating āHitbox needs and deserves more attentionā Itās not verbatim but thatās basically whatās his trying to say. Check it out!
Hello there, Hit Box players!
I use the Hit Box with PS360+ board ver 1.3 ( if I remember correctly, I installed the firmware ver. 1.31 ).
When I started playing KOF13 and Injustice I noticed a problem with half circles moves. As I doing half circles moves clockwise it works just fine. But otherwise it loses input of ādownā direction. It looks like b, db, df, f. In SSF4 AE is not so critical, but in a fighting games with a advanced input is very noticeable. At first I thought that itās just me. If I can do clockwise move, then why I canāt do counterwhise? But when I played KOF13 and SSF4 AE on the keyboard, everything worked perfectly.
Also I gave my Hit Box to a friend of mine. He has the same problem with input.
I have a suspicion that something wrong with the board. Or maybe itās just me?
Here are 3 screenshots. The first one - 1P side. The second one - 2P side while Iām using the Hit Box. The third one - input via PC keyboard.
