Higher Stakes 3rd Strike @ GVN Winter Brawl 4 - February 27th 2010 - Philadelphia, PA

some rich ass motherfuckers up in here

EDIT:
I’m pretty much out of a job atm so I don’t want to say I’m in for sure but… keep me in mind.

EDIT 2:
this should MOST DEFENITELY be run on a stream. 50 dollar fucking tournament?

ewwww

Another option is run the tourny on emulator with head to head monitors. However, there may be too many variables to trust that there will be consistency during tournament play. Unless anyone can prove otherwise, I’ll run the tourny on my ps2 and tv apart from the main singles tourny. 3s will still play like ps2 3s, but at least it looks sharper on this tv -

regular tv

my tv

Im still down for PS2 stuff.

I mean no matter what its still one of the best games to play.

Guys show your support for 3s. Regardless of what system it’s being played on, what big tournaments for this game come up for the east coast these days, let alone ones with a chance of actually making some money? This tourny could be huge. With Justin Wong gone, the competition pool for 3s is pretty even now. It’s anyone’s game now. Who’s going to dominate EC 3s? Time to step your game up and put your money where your mouth is.

During a time when 3s tournies are $5, or $10 if we’re lucky (or even lucky enough to have a 3s tournament at all), a $50/$100/whatever amount it ends up being tournament should be a big deal to 3s players. There is plenty of notice to get $50/100 set aside for this tourny. Plus, with the current lack of 3s tournies, there will be more funds from what you may have normally spent on local or other tournies as you have in previous years. Also, is $50 really that much for an entry fee? Is it that much considering all of it goes towards the pot? Lots of other competitive games have large entry fees/buy-ins - FPS, poker, etc.

If SFIV is barely getting sponsors, 3s isn’t getting anything anytime soon. Fighting games had their place in the early 90’s - SF from '91-'93. Any chance at fighting games being mainstream has been over for a long time. I’m not saying it can’t be done again. SFIV had that potential, but shot itself in the face…maybe it will have helped pave the future path…who knows. In the meantime, if we want any hype to our games of choice, we must do everything ourselves.

$1,000-$10,000 is high stakes. $50-$100?! It’s a start. Come on! Grow some balls. Enter the Baller’s tournament.

I am already quite the baller but lol dont worry no matter what I am entering.

ill grind out the ps2 shit at home

now all thats left to do is wait…

I’m gonna talk to a few people and my Co-Worker to see if we can make this U-Hall thing work. No Promises tho. How far is Philly from doylestown?

I’m talking to one of my co-workers, he has a pick up truck.

Thanks, guys. The hotel in Philly is just over an hour from Doylestown.

Will the mysterious CPRYU enter the Higher Stakes tournament???

Where are all the 3s pro’s at.

waiting to see if makato, dudley, and ibuki will be worth it in SSF4:looney:

Nah, the sfiv engine is still ass, even if they add 3s characters

i thought cpryu hates online play?!?

I like online play only because it’s very easy to read opponents’ button inputs. Reading an opponent’s button inputs offline is very mentally taxing, so I’ll probably only enter this tournament if a lot of people enter.

CPRYU wore tennis shoes. Rumor has it Namijin will show up only if you go.

OK USA!

(…o-k usa)

Namijin? Shouldn’t be too difficult to read the fierce button’s input.

I’m putting you down, so Namijin better step up. Let’s go players.
