High Res NG,2i & 3rd Strike Art

for neo-geo fans like me,shinkiro will always have a special places in our hearts blah blah
some people don’t like his style and i can understand why . but i dig it
nona is a genius and hiroaki’s alright
you might want to check out tonko (gekka 1/2 and motw) and senri kita
if memory serves me right, they are both females like nishimura kinu é_é
and both are immensely talented

capcom and snk had amazing artists and games in the 80s /90s
akiman pretty much invented the genre with his suto II characters

Any one have Hugo’s NG stage?

He was introduced amazingly in 2nd Impact with the Godzilla Kaiju like Posters and theme right?

No stage for NG yet, wasn’t concept or anything hidden code not done yet but still there was he?

No wonder I think of Akuma as only speaking in Owl hoots and ‘hooyah’ at most. Then he gets crazy with vocabulary in win quotes, any game.

The stage was finished and is different than his 2i stage. The character wasn’t finished he was more finished than gray fly in Jojo’s if you want to compare incomplete characters.

I know I’m gonna get some flack from SNK fans for saying this, but I think Shinkiro got way better since going to Capcom. Compare his KoF/CvS stuff to ohhhh MvC3 or even Capcom Fighting Jam. He progressed to a much bolder style and I think it worked out for the better.

Kinu Nishimura is definitely one of my top 3 artists though. Just seeing her evolve from SF2 to MvC3 is nuts, not to mention she can get very diverse in styles depending on the game.

Thanks!!

3S stages seemed unique. Not only were they urban, but they just felt realistic compared to virtually every other stage in fighters. Usually stages are crazy ott wtf Japan-styled caricatures or they’re industrial and/or above a pit in American fighters.

i agree with Louis, the stages in 3s are a lot more gritty and less cartoony, 2i and NG felt more like the Alpha series

Lovely work on the stage backgrounds Fran. Really frustrating 3s never looked like this, even though it did finally see the return of Chun Li (who after being hated on for a decade, sadly turned to the bottle, as evidenced below):

NG/2I background/art are good in their own right. I don’t really want to compare them to 3S’s because the overall feel of those games are drastically different.

NG/2I do feel more like the Alpha games, but that in itself isn’t terrible. They feel like an evolution of their past games while still keeping that traditional Capcom touch. Then they went super gritty with 3rd Strike. It’s not as vibrant or colorful as 2I, but the graphics and sound fit the mood of the game better.

I will say this though, hitting someone with Alex’s HP or Dudley’s f.HK feels a hell of a lot better on 3rd Strike.

They just replaced the older hit stop with a new longer lasting hit-stop.

Or they just added more hit-stop.

That reminded me of XBOX online version.

Lobby settings for Old and New Guard Judgment. Whatever that meant.

? it meant unblockables working or not i think.

Hugo’s stage in NG was the same as Gill’s if you pick the very incomplete Hugo using cheats.

Oh shit the 3S group pic is in 300dpi. Time to put it in a poster frame.

Finished the 3S promo pic replica of sorts (not that PS2 rerelease version with the dumb street edges). The bottom end had a weird cutoff so I made sure I faded it out. I think the most inaccurate part is the katakana placement but it’s minor in the bigger picture. I should have the image in original quality ASAP.

Well that’s if you pick the character. Anyway it’s just a different palette more faded colors and there is an empty table.

how come you can only see urien’s teeth, eyes and hair?
