This is my taunt trap with Ryu: Built up super, be about half screen away, taunt and they WILL taunt you back, then nail them with the super for the k.o. Has worked atleast 5 times.
Could be wrong but I get the feeling some of Daigo’s taunts in Third Strike were used for mind games and getting into his opponent’s head, rather than getting the small attack boost.
I remember that guy. Didn’t he have to stop though cause he started to get bodied? He wasn’t bad at all though from what I remember.
But it’s Ken, he’s supposed to taunt in 3s. It’s like picking Dan in SF4 and NOT taunting.
But he only primarily did it when he was angry, or messing around. You never see serious Japanese players taunt without using its special properties.
Did you know that Poongko taunts 100% of the time? Yes! His taunting consistes of zero respect and rush you till your pants fall off and get exposed! That’s the sort of “taunting” that pro players should strive for. Utter destruction of your opponent.
Poongko “styling” on you is taunting!
Only evil people taunt.
Taunt if you want, don’t taunt if you don’t want.
If you think you deserve respect, you’re doing it wrong.
When you taunt in 3S, you get bonuses, such as more damage, more stamina, or faster stun gauge depletion. Ken gets a damage bonus. The next hit or combo he lands get about a 1/3 damage increase, so if a combo does 20 damage, you’ll see it do about 25 or 26.
EDIT: Here.

Thanks, but I’m aware of that.
Taunting is like a Jedi mind trick, only works in the feeble-minded.
Tournament players are too focused to be affected by a taunt, so they just use them if provides a benefit like third strike taunts or if they want to please the crowd.
its because there little bitches who don’t want beef with anyone.
I heard that Taunting is a tool for mindgames? Maybe for online ranked matches? I do know that in 3S taunting really helps for characters because it has a boost for most characters. When I started playing 3sOE I remember people really got mad that I was taunting with Q. Nasty messages.
I can’t speak for high level players but in my case if I stun you I will taunt you. Bison can only stun you if you let him so if you get stunned you deserve it.
I main Dan and Dudley and taunting plays a huge part in their game.
Because taunting is something only scrubs do, thinking it’ll give them a psychological edge over their opponent and somehow compensate for their lack of ability.
Also this is gaming, not sports. If you really need that sort of thing in order to find the matches “entertaining”, perhaps you shouldn’t watch.

Is Tokido a scrub when he taunts Justing Wong several times.
I find this very entertaining tbh.
Was just watching the Werdio Neo vs Latif and they were taunting each other
It’s the type of thing that can feed a comeback and it usually makes it worse for the taunters next time they are stuck in a couple of mix up set ups and the opponent is letting their game do the talking rather than being arrogant. Mean while the taunter has placed more pressure on himself at this point which usually leads to tightness in reflexes.
I know it’s cheesy to say but I never do it just for the idea that I don’t want to give my opponent extra motivation and I don’t want them to know where my head is at, at any given moment.
Majority who do the taunting are scrubs. And again, if the match is not entertaining or exciting for you(i.e. robotic) till taunts are brought in, then perhaps you should watch something else.
that makes me want to main ryu now… or gouken… taunt, SPIN DAT STICK!
