Darkstalkers/Vampire Hunter (same storyline, VH retcons DS) takes place in 1983. Originally it took place in 1991 but that was altered. Vampire Savior takes place in 1999. SFZ1/SFZ2 (same storyline, newer version retcons the previous, again) take place in 1988 and SFZ3 takes place in 1990. So really, the timelines don’t fit right now for Rose and Anita being the same person.

They might have been the same person early on, possibly during SFZ1 when Rose was created. But the more they developed Rose’s story as being… “connected” to Vega(cape) it sort of became iffy. Rose is… dead, if she was Anita she would no longer be around to stop Jedah ressurecting the fetus and destroying the entire world. (Or… she wouldn’t even be alive for Jedah to reference her as being the one who could stop her… SFZ3 - 1990, VS - 1999). So yeah, the more they fleshed out Anita’s story the less it works out too(or complicates things). Older Anita gained a different older (slightly older) look in Vampire Collection that doesn’t look like Rose’s outfit, just to throw this out there.

As a side note, Studio Udon definitly seperated the two characters as different people in their comics. At least in my eyes anyway.

What’s always been funny is Lei Lei(Hseinko) throwing Chun-Li’s bracelet, Balrog’s claw and a small Gouki statue at her opponents, heh heh.

Oh yeah, check Saiki’s DS Plot Guide for accurate timelines and info. I’m fairly sure that the 100 years deal was yet another Capcom USA mistranslation.

I wonder if sfdevotion will release a Plot Guide. After looking at his dedication to SF, he’d probably be able to answer these types of questions thoroughly.

Yes, I understand that. I’m just saying that Capcom was wrong to call that Rival Schools 2. To call that RS2 would be like calling Street Fighter II’: Champion Edition Street Fighter Three.

Anyway, yes I get that RS Evo is RS2, but VF4 Evo isn’t VF5. Street Fighter II stayed Street Fighter II until Street Fighter Zero/Alpha. WTF Capcom?

They throw in two characters and an RPG mode and call it a sequel? WTF?
