Mno: wow for someone that just picked up akuma and doing fadc combos, i’m impressed. as far as i can remember, nothing stood out from our matches. i think you just lack the experience and knowledge of character matchups. just play more and read up on akuma’s matchups.

Super chill of you to be doing casuals like this. Just a Canadian Blanka over here, looking to spot holes in my game and level up, I’ll throw you a message on XBL if your online first and wouldn’t mind throwing down for a few matches.
Also, Boxer is my worst nemesis. Obviously you can’t ball anything, so you have to elec for damage instead. Most trades are not in your favour, and while you can outpoke him, you can’t follow the blockstring or forward hop or pull any crossup shenanigans while respecting his ultra, because all it takes is that headbutt.
The only games I take on solid conservative Boxers are by baiting dashpunches with fakeball to elecs, and baiting headbutts on safejumps, but surely there’s gotta be more he can do with the matchup?
Somewhat new Blanka player here looking for some tips and practice. Sent Moval a PM but I figured I’d post in here to in case anyone else was offering help with playing Blanka.

Also if we do play, i get random lag spikes sometimes so just be aware.

Heltr Skeltr: hard to say. we only played 3 games and one of the matches was against your blanka. it seems like you know your stuff - let’s get more games in next time.

And for the record he basically smashed my blanka with his akuma. Your combos are pretty sick, it felt like they were never gona end. Thought we were playin mvc2 for a second.
Quick question, when you use blanka what do you usually do as a wake up? i normally do the up ball but it feels alot of times alot of moves beat that but lately ive been thinking its just that im not timing it right. I dunno tho.

jh3xp: yea those lag spikes suck! anyway, on wakeup it really sucks because you’re at a disadvatnage. you’re always guessing and reacting to what your opponent is going to do - is he going to meaty me? is he going to early jump and hit me low? is he going to throw? etc. luckily blanka has a couple of options, but they are all situational. if you’re not sure, the best thing to do is just block and wait it out.
ryu something (the name escapes me): nice blanka fundamentals man. really oldschoolish like. reminds me of ST days. once you learn the new features in sf4 (which isn’t much) i’d be afraid to fight you. oh almost forgot - stop doing wakeup ultras!
Thanks so much for the matches man! I do need to work on being a little more aggressive with Blanka. I have had some success with working hop crossups, etc, but a majority of the time when I get try to get in close I get punished. Ya, I do need more work on the combos, suppose I should spend a bit more time working in Challenge/Trial mode.
Thanks again for the matches. I’ll have to hit you up again sometime. I’d love to pick your brain in regards to learning when and how to pour on the pressure and crossups with Blanka. Awesome matches though.
