Hey Moval! I’ve always loved watching your vids.
I’m getting into tourney playing more seriously and would love to play against you sometime to get your thoughts on my Blanka game. I am on vacation most of this week if you’ve got the time.

vs. seth you have to be really patient and look for openings and patterns. when seth has ultra or super you cant jump in, slide, or ball. when you corner seth do your best not to let him out. those teleport shenanigans i was doing can be punished easily with ex/reg upball. even if seth hits you after, it’s still in your favor. i treat this matchup like i do with sim where you rely heavily on your normals and jab/elec combos.
vs. e.honda always punish fierce headbutt with slide. when you get in on honda always go for crossups because honda sucks at defending against it. punish blocked ultra with your own ultra. jump in fierce punch beats honda’s ex/reg headbutt. bait out headbutts with jab balls and then jumping straight up. he will either land in front of you (jab headbutt) or behind you (fierce headbutt) and just punish with either slide or sweep.
vs. guile make it a habbit to react to his sonic booms with slide. this goes for any projectile characters as well. keep up the crossup pressure when you get in on him because like honda, he sucks at defending it. try not to jump in on his sonic booms alot because its bait for a crouching fierce or air throw punish.
for walk in combos always go for jab/elecs. its really good for pressure and leaves alot of options after…you can hop over, do another jab/elec, sweep, jump in, throw, etc etc.
finally, learn blankas normals! learn what move to use at the right distance and dont rely too much on his ball attacks. it’s not going to get you anywhere. good luck!
from my experience, j.hp doesn’t beat or trade vs ex headbutt, blanka can’t jump in at all with ANY attack even vs a regular jab headbut thats timed properly.
co-sign on that sir, but most honda’s can’t do it properly on sf like they can on ST. They mostly do the ex ass or ex headbutt for air defense in sf4.:karate:

I’m too lazy to check the Seasons Beating 4 thread but will you be attending? I play on PC so I can’t get a chance to get in some games with you any other way.
shotos have shoryus, so blanka can’t jump in at all too? the point is when you get that chance at a jump in, then go for it. dont hesistate, dont be afraid, just do it. as long as you know what move to use that lowers your chance of getting countered. in this case, blankas best jump in option (imo) against honda is fp. ive countered his headbutt many times with this move and so has shglbmx.
on another note: for those still wanting to level up their blanka, my shop is still open. just send me a msg first before adding.

BodaciousAtom here. Thanks a ton for playing me earlier today. Those footsies/pokes are amazing. Tbh I don’t run into anything even near that level playing random championship mode or player matches (against any character), so it was great to play against someone at a level, lets say, 10 above mine. Or probably more haha.
It was funny, I was trying to counter yet watch what you were doing at the same time. Besides a few spazz outs with slides, I know I need to work on pokes and walking elec (which I cant do atm). Any other tips or advice u can give me would be much appreciated.
P.S. I didn’t realize vert ball was so damn punishable…
