I hate mirror match Blanka…this is going to be so fucking painful just to watch…
I’m this close to completely quitting Blanka vs. Blanka. My Dhalsim still is only a couple steps away from complete flowchart status, but I’m strongly considering just counterpicking all known Blanka players in tournament from now on.

jay - sim is a good choice for you. i know you already have good defense and i think he fits your style. i’d be afraid to fight you.

Yeah cheers for the games last night! Saw some pretty interesting things that I’m gonna try and incorporate into my game.
Cheers for the games the other night (apologies I had to bail), but I learnt quite a few new things & would definately be up for some more matches. (Your Akuma rocked too). (I’ll be on again from May 11th onwards).

It’s a wierd mirror match, But I have to play it since viper loses pretty bad to him. SO I’;ve actally got pretty good at it.
ps: I thought Blanka fucked Dahlsim up?
I don’t know anyone who isn’t Japanese who thinks Blanka beats Dhalsim. Outside of literally flat out guessing on slide, I don’t know how you stop just basic limb patterns. Once you’ve pushed Blanka outside of slide range, it’s literally a flow chart match.
A) Throw fireball
B) See what he does
b1) if jump in, b+rh
b2) if EX ball, s.fierce whether you got hit or not (probably won’t get hit)
b3) if jump straight up, jump strong/rh/fierce depending on angle, maybe s.rh but why make life hard on yourself
b4) if nothing, s.fierce
C) Repeat
c1) advanced tactic. maybe s.fierce first before throwing next fireball
My Dhalsim is seriously hot garbage. I can’t do combos with him, my teleport game is piss poor. But other than MOVAL (and I don’t think we’ve ever played that match) I have an overwhelmingly winning record against all other Blankas. Someone who was actually good with Dhalsim and familiar with the match would bring the rape even harder.

Yeah, I’d really like to know why the hell the Japanese think Blanka beats Sim. I played a pretty decent Dhalsim last night for 10 - 12 matches, trying to figure out and test new stuff to get in and it’s incredibly frustrating. You can turtle like heck (lots of jumping back/coward crouch into KKK hop back) and make him come to you but he ends up getting super really quick and one unanticipated teleport later you have lost nearly 2/3s of your life.
Once you get in a knockdown though if you can mix it up enough and put on the pressure Sim kinda crumbles. Until he teleports.

I’ve had some success doing rainbow rolls to cover distance against dhalsim. I think it may have worked just because the sims I’ve played haven’t seen it much and it threw off their timing…worth a try until they figure it out though. Horizontal balls were dealt with easily…had to figure out some other way to get in.
