That’s what I was thinking, possibly using x factor to get in the corner and throw more springs out…It probably depends on where it bounces the opponent. Isn’t it random?
Meh I hope not. I always imagine that the buttons you pressed for the hyper determined which way it flung people. Like L+M flung them left, M+H flung them to the right, and L+H flung them straight up. Wait, can it fling people up? I don’t think I’ve seen that yet . . .
Btw ChrisD I love your avatar lol. One of my teams is going to be Chris/RR/someone else, maybe Morrigan for meter assist.
Last I heard, it could send them either left right or up and I assumed it was random. It could be determined by how they land on the trap, like if they’re on the left side of the trap it’ll pop them left. That would be interesting if it were determined by button presses, hopefully someone with an early copy can explain this? Or I can wait another day, whatever.
Yea I have full confidence in these guys being good friends. Pretty stoked to explore their possibilities.
The spring trap direction isn’t random, L+M bounces them left and M+H bounces them right. I’m not sure about straight up.
It’s not.
This is exactly the case. Mad Hopper is like Taskmaster’s arrows. Three different directions depending on the two :atk: buttons pressed. :l:+:m: bounces them left, +:h: right and :l:+:h: sends them straight up.
Found out about this the few hours I got to play Ultimate today.
Thanks a bunch, now I have some things to consider when I test it out.
That’s tight! Are you able to super jump up to them after an up fling to continue the combo?
You don’t have to super jump at all actually. You can either wait for them to drop a bit after the bounce and continue a ground string into :s: or you can do a normal jump to follow up with some air normals like j.:h::s: etc etc.
I’m really wanting to experiment with Mad Hopper and its uses as a combo extender. It intrigues me so much.
Thats horrible new’s for pad players… I guess I must…Learn…ill probably have issues with the L + M Version the most
L+M/M+H won’t be too hard I’m sure, but L+H sounds like a problem. Perhaps you can change your buttons a bit and make right trigger/R2 your H button? /shrug
I actually am a pad player so I’ve reserved to using the same control scheme I use when I play Taskmaster when playing Rocket. Set the :atk::atk: macro to :l:+:h: and just manually input :l:+:m: and +:h: when you want the others.
As of now I generally prefer the :l:+:h: version of anyway because it’s the one that goes straight up.
Thats exactly what I do, I have L + H as my atk-atk (R-Trigger). its just, as I said hitting, L + M is kinda awkward to me. lol
Does: j.M, j.S, M, H, f.H, Mad Hopper work?
(odd question i know)
Pretty sure it does.
Fun fact: One of Rocky’s pieces of dialogue while taunting is him calling the opponent a “flark face.” I forget the exact line, but he definitely says “flark face.” There’s also “Think I have rabies? Let’s find out…” from the ASSIST ME! breakdown.
Ok i was testing out a few things with RR.
- Rocket skates in the air is unsafe because he floats alittle after the animation BUT it can be cancelled into a normal so super jump rocket skates going down foward into a light is an instant overhead.
2.double tapping up gives him a hover so if you double tap up then light its an instant overhead as well. - his S is the grenade,if you super jump,Rocket Skate down forward and cancel it into S then do a low it seems unblockable it also combos as 2 hits im not sure if it really is unblockable but in a real match i doubt you will block something like that just like his 88 j.l (instant overhead) that’s what i got so far.
good shit
I will be abusing
tri rocket skate overhead + assist the burrow
The burrow can’t get hit with anything…not even gravity squeeze or phoenix wright super, after i kill one character i usually do 2 traps and go underground to go under them for mix up,the burrow start up is really fast and you can block as soon as you get out.
So after net trap do j.M j.s 3x into log trap ,this creates a tech trap and a free mixup,if they press a button, they Will get blown up by the log,if they aren’t mashing and block the log you get a free under dash mix up or to just derp it out the ground burrow for easier mix up or as soon as they land do the instant overhead,or do instant overhead with assist.
I WILL FIGURE OUT MORE,WE MUST MAKE HIM BROKE!! lol
I didn’t think that I would like Raccoon but his trials made me fall in love with his combos, what is his current BNB? The combo thread is kinda dead so…
Also, would Raccoon and Hawkeye work together? I like those 2 characters but don’t have a team for them.
Rocky, Chris, an’ Hawkeye sound like a force to be reckoned with.
I don’t have time to read all the rocket raccoon post atm but can someone answer if this combo is possible. The concept is you do a full combo with rocket raccoon ending in his spring hyper, but then you dhc into another super like million dollars before they hit it. After hyper finishes opponent falls on spring gets bounced and dante or whoever could tack on more combo.
