i think i did. I had assume it was patricks cord…it was black and i think it had one of those little arrow stickers on it
yeah, i think we should definitely do it…even if we only have enough to run two stations. I can either start from scratch and randomly pair ppl to stations or i can use the tournament results to approximate a “top” station

Hey Jon, can you give out some details on MvC3 launch night? Is it gonna be open casuals Monday night leading into opening MvC3 or will it be a brief casual?
Edit: Stupid release date, thought it would be Wednesday morning but it’s Tuesday instead. Definitely calling for a day off then.
MVC3 Midnight Launch Details:
Tuesday Feb. 15 @ 12:00AM - 2/3AM
$5 Entry Fee or If you pre-ordered a copy of MVC3 from Heroes World your entry fee is included.
Open casuals planned, but if we got enough players we’ll probably do a Single-Elim bracket for bragging rights.
Be sure to pre-order a copy with Jon or Hidey ASAP! as the order is going in! We will have possibly a few copies for sale for those that didn’t pre-order (perhaps only one or two for each system), so make sure you pre-order if you want it for sure!
We may come in earlier or possibly just stay open till that time, but we haven’t decided those full details yet, i’ll post up when i know

i think the lower turn it is partly based on AE’s release. But also January tends to be a month where people are really busy, or just don’t like the cold weather. I suspect we’ll see lower turn outs like this until MVC3 hits…or the weather heats up. Nonetheless i’m still gonna rock SF whenever i can so keep coming out folks if you can! also let me know if you got any ideas on how to get more ppl out or help level up our player base.

Good Games to everybody last night, the Team Makoto Vs Team Ryu was pretty funny. Got some AH3 in the mix too which was fun.

MVC3 - BAD NEWS!
Hey guys, i regret to inform you that Capcom has decided to royally f-up my efforts to promote and sell their new game. Apparently the Special editions were not printed to order hence there were allocations to everyones order. Allocations usually mean there is a short supply so everyone that ordered will get a percentage of their order…apparently my percentage is 0%. Yep that’s right, they’ve decided to give the little guys 0 copies of special edition. This is despite us getting our orders in for the deadline, which apparently doesn’t matter, is irrelevant to them.
So long story short, is that we will not be receiving any special editions for either system. Heroes World and myself apologize for this situation. We can get regular editions no problem so if anyone want’s to change their order to a regular edition please let me know. Futureshop, best buy and i assume EB are still taking orders for the Xbox Special Edition so you can get your preorders to them asap, i’m still hunting to find out if anyone is still taking orders for PS3. So far I’ve only found them located in the US locations. If anyone has trouble tracking down a copy let me know and i’ll see if make a trip out to the US to pick up some copies.
In relation, our midnight release event is up in the air at the moment. Unless alot of folks want to change to regular editions i suspect it will be cancelled. I will probably schedule something like an extended casuals for the actual release date (perhaps tuesday 4pm-11pm or something).
Hopefully ya’ll can understand and can find copies of the Special editions elsewhere. I for one am crushed as I put in alot of effort to create something cool but it seems the big boys don’t care about us little guys.
Anybody who left a deposit can talk to me and i’ll have it returned to you on the asap.
That really sucks. I really wanted the SE for PS3. Anyone know where I can get one now? Amazon.com is not taking pre-orders for it anymore and seems even play-asia is not either.

yeah, it super sucks…in all honesty Heroes World wasn’t really going to make much off the copies, i’m mostly upset because I won’t be able to provide you guys with the version you want and leaving everybody in a scramble to find copies now.

I’ve been using Steve’s VLX for like half an hour and nothing has come up after my modifying it a wee bit.
Junior Chicken who can guess what I did to the VLX by the end of tomorrow. =)
Remapped HP/HK to 3P/3K?
Uhhhhhhhhhhh… that doesn’t prevent the button to be “pressed”… O_o;
The VLX thing is gonna bother me until it gets fixed without in game configuration so maybe later on I’ll have Wun Yan install a chimp. If I do go through with a $30 replacement Qanba case, I might use the VLX PCB for it and construct a third stick(why I need three sticks, who knows, maybe I’ll donate it to HW lol).
As for the MvC3 incident, Jon, I forgot to give you a deposit for the game but hopefully you can trust me enough to let me know if you can confirm a SE version post midnight launch. Time nor console version isn’t very important to me though I would really really like to support the smaller guys and not get it from EB Games or anywhere else…then again, I do have Front Mission Evolved and a $20 Cadillac gift card that could make it cheaper if the situation gets grim. In the end, I have vowed to only buy Collector’s/Special Editions when it comes to games on PS3 or 360.

Thanks so much steve, hearing that people do appreciate the little guys (namely heroes world) is so great to hear, it’s reduced my salty level towards capcom and made me feel that despite this set back we’re going a great community. I’ll see what i can do about a SE for you, but if you see one around definitely grab it because i don’t want you fans to miss out on a great edition.
If you read wun’s post, it looks like he did something that fixed it (your vlx)…guess we’ll have to see…i have no idea what to guess he did…changed a button perhaps?
on another note, i’ll have two xbox stations set up on friday for people to jam on. If you paid this week or last there is no charge to play…it’ll probably be more of a chill session. i will have to probably shut it down around 8/8:30 because i have to prep the area for the big magic tourney on saturday
This is indeed unfortunate and I was hoping that Capcom wouldn’t repeat their history of allocating special edition versions of AAA titles. Kudos to Jon for disseminating this info right away as I just got word from my supplier today regarding the allocation. After speaking with every software distributor I deal with in North America, it was confirmed the allocation is widespread.
There is still a chance (albeit remote) that some SE’s will come through the pipe in time for launch. I won’t know anything until distribution has received their stock and it has been allocated to each of the Sales Reps.
I would recommend attempting to secure an SE elsewhere for the interim if at all possible.
Please note that I have been advised Standard Editions will be readily available. If you wish to switch from the Special Edition to standard let Jon know so I can ensure he gets the appropriate quantity.
Oh lol! Read it wrong haha! I thought Wun was playing around and couldn’t find what was wrong with it haha! I bet it was something to due with my playing environment(I don’t mean play by what’s on my template giggity) but I mean that I do plamo kits(sanding, putty and other crap) while my stupid little pomeranian runs around as well as my fat cat lol!
Okay Jon, I will try to secure a SE MvC3 from one of the EB games I can use my gift card and trade in but if anything comes in, I will return it(hopefully I don’t get tempted to open it lol!).

Ah I remember back in the day where small shops actually got their stock, there was a crazy amount of people actually lining up to pick up their copies of SFIV at Gamerama. I got smart and pre-ordered mine long time ago, I was about to go ape-poo on the staff when they said they were sold out of CE versions for PS3. Luckily they kept pre-ordered copies in the back. Padkuma Patrick try to get his copy last minute(CE as well), had to go to 3 different EB Games in the Yonge/Eglinton area before he reluctantly picked up a regular version but the guys felt pity on him and gave him a pre-order special Ryu headband lol! I think it’s still somewhere in his Nissan Altima haha!
Interesting, Nippon-jin don’t have Special Edition available, guess MvC is still a North American dominated game
