Just got my fight stick back from chowwun, hmmm, it’s really hard converting to stick after having the comfort of a pad but it really sucks to use a pad for events like the casuals(even if I need 2 seconds to change my layout).
Anyway, I’m pretty sure I can make it for Wednesday(90%) and Friday(40%), got MvC2 and Battle Fantasia on my PS3(as well as Turtles in Time and Scott Pilgrim VS The World) and KOF2002UM on my 360(Couple of Shoot 'em ups and Virtual On).
3s sounds great, havent played that game in years. How about Xmen VS SF? Marvel Vs SF? Marvel Vs Capcom? Rival Schoolds 1 and 2? Pit fighter? Eternal Champions? TMNT TE? Clayfighter series? Got’em all on Xbox simulator if anyone is interested. By the way , check this out guys.

Casuals are still on for Wednesday and Friday this week, and the tourney will be Sunday Nov 21st. I’ll start a new thread with the tourney details tomorrow.

Might as well throw this up in this thread as this came up a good number of times between me and Hedi(Omega_Orochi?), does taunts and colors get unlocked via playing VS mode?? From my findings, I can certainly say no simply because my buddy comes by often to play VS and I don’t simply turn off my PS3 after we’re done. That, and all versions of SSFIV has best of 7 in VS mode(local) right?

Steve, vs does unlock them but you have to go to character change (if my memory is accurate) going to reach doesn’t unlock them

After playing enough you need to go into the menu to unlock colours and taunts.
VS mode will unlock colours and taunts (alternating), only for player one via character change - this is correct.
Only the JP version of the game allows for best of 7, domestic is best of 5 max.
Ah that’s the key thing there, player 1 only unlocks colors!!! Forgot about that~
So then I need to start alternating to player 2 myself whenever my friend plays on my machine.
Hmm, guess we haven’t played vs on my 360 at the moment, was it always best out of 5 even for Vanilla(North American CE for me)?
btw hitting rematch doesn’t count. You need to go into character select screen every time in order to unlock stuff. It alternates between colour and taunts so the first player needs to pick a character 16 times before having all the colours and taunts are available.
is the game installed on the xbox/ps3 there? I can’t remember if there was significant loading times after char select.
on the ps3s and one of the xboxes we have the game installed…i think only one of the xboxes has no harddrive…but i think he want’s to bring in his system to unlock colours…which i would assume he has the game installed
This wednesday we will have 3 stations set-up out front (2 ps3, 1 xbox) and will have at least 1-2 stations (xbox) in the back room for backup incase we get a bunch of ppl show up. If anyone owns a stick it’s probably a good idea to bring it…omega can’t make it this wednesday and he’s usually kind enough to provide 2-3 TEs, so we’ll be short on TEs this time
fyi, if you REALLY want to unlock colours, the “easy” way is to use versus mode, pick your character, and right when you get to pause, pause and go back to char change. I remember I did this for a char or two, and it took about 10-15minutes to unlock all the colours/taunt for one char.

Okay okay, my English regular edition 360 version of SSFIV has best out of 7 option in VS mode, so does my Japanese CE SSFIV as well, unless the English version on PS is excluded, I can confirm that best out of 7 is available on all SSFIV.
If people are willing to play on my 360 to unlock colours, I would be happy to bring mine. I know the story behind us not unlocking colours now and it’s pretty much because I only play around with a handful of characters on player one. I don’t bother changing sides but since my friend has a weird ass control layout for his pad, not going to bother with the trouble lol.
Yeah what’s up with Omega’s TE sticks aside from his RD2-S he uses, I see no one using his TE stick most of the time and people are complaining over the Tatsunoko vs Capcom and the “blue” stick(Arcade Whips?) lol~
Online does suck, that’s probably why my friend has no matchup experience at all since he never plays online.
