Heroes and Heralds mode discussion thread

I have a question about clearing of H and H. I’m pretty sure it said you could unlock Herald colours for characters, but that hasn’t happened even after getting 100 percent in every stage for both sides offline, which is what I thought you had to do. Or is the reward for winning the online campaign?

One more complaint about the rare cards: even after having 9 of a card, they’ll still give them to you after a fight and then “discard” them. Ugh.

It’s tied to the Online mode in some way. It strikes me as kind of a poor decision by Capcom :frowning:

Has anyone played with the special cancel cards? They’re ridiculously fun. Morrigan becomes a Soul Fist goddess, Viper becomes the most broken thing ever, Hawkeye becomes the god of chip, etc.

Deadpool, guns into guns.
Doom, beam into beam.
Nova, javelin into javelin.
Sent, Drones into drones.

harder to do.

Nemesis, air rocket into air rocket.
Hulk gamma wave into gamma wave. Gamma charge into gamma charge.
Shuma mystic ray into mystic ray.

Arthur might be fun to.

The only character that REALLY benefits from this is Trish. Get her Ultron Card with increased flight and super armor while in air and she is suddenly immune to Strider’s Vajira. You know, her one weakness.

With that in mind is Astral Vision classed as a Powerup? Could build a longer duration along with a special cancel card and just plaster the screen in soul fists lol.

Something like Watcher/Mystique/Serpent.

Some fun things to try: daredevil + Dorm: you can alternate power ups in the blink of an eye and charge a 1d2c while the first 1d2c is going off.

Godot + Fou RAPES FFF users.

I use 2 Fous and that guy that gives you meter for xfactoring to kill sabre/power/power users. Land a hit with dorm, chaotic flame xf (which gives you 4 meters), chaotic flame (now in xf) xx death penalty which seams to kill anyone in any combination…

That chick, um…lady? That lengthens instant attacks and power ups projectiles. This is made for Strange. His eye now becomes a shield that stops ANYTHING except a super and stays on the screen for about 8 seconds. Even as an assist!

Sasquatch was made for Skrull. Just get 3 of those and watch Skrull go! Elastic slam almost gives him a 3 level, and Death penalty is super powered up and will kill almost anything in non-xf…

i have a question… i lost a match in one stage and i had 100% on the stage… and it dissappeared… how do i get the stage back?

Currently on a 16 game win streak against you heralds with a new strategy…POWER! Cyclops main, koush (?), and hayato/anti-venom. Did you guys know that Hayato’s effect is cumulative? It may be the most broken card yet…

How is getting only 4% damage boost per ten hits broken by HvH standards? The worst part that it is a temporary buff, so you’ll only get it at the end of combos (where it doesn’t matter that much). The only way to make it effective is to set up a reset mid-combo, but why not just pick a better card that lets you do TOD combos right away? Anti-Venom is better in case you like to play it lame, cause that boost is also cumulative and it is permanent. And if had to name the most broken card that would be Thanos. Same (actually even better) cumulative effect per parry, so by the time you parry a beam, you’ll get like a 70%-100% damage boost and it stacks till you get a 300% damage increase. Sure it is temporary, but it is whole a lot better getting a damage boost at the beginning of a combo, rather than at the end. And you can parry out of blockstun to get this effect, not to mention, you can dramatically reduce the damage you take with red parries.

Both sound strategies, both work well. I’m just saying Hayato’s comes quickly if you land a hit. 10 hits is nothing, Doom’s beam does 10 hits. A Skrull combo powers up over 10x DURING the combo and ends with sick damage. And while the effect is temporary, if I land a meteor storm on the guy’s assist, boom, 4x more power AND a new timer AND more block damage for my normals. I’m telling you, 16 wins so far against some really cheap teams. I also can lame it out well, and anti-venom’s CRAZY, especially towards the end of a match…I ended one match by locking down the guy with meteor storm and tp’d on top of him with Dorm and hit him with a fierce (he blocked all), and took the last 40% of his life with just that. It even beats FFF teams, because it’s like we are both on XF, but I get to use HCs. I kill the sabre/cage/cage teams easily as well. It’s like everybody is made of paper…

Btw, only certain cards erode hitstun. It seems that cards that affect your abilities, (speed inc, decrease charge time, maybe FFF) also erode your hitstun. But my current team that just boosts power doesn’t, and I can do my Dr. Strange combos all day…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it is a bad deck, not at all. I just wouldn’t call it broken. The deck you are suggesting definitely has the advantage of being more versatile, just becuase no character is handicapped, unlike some characters with Speed Boost, FFF, MegamEn cards. But it is kinda weird that only some characters are really affected by the HSD increase. I know that it pretty much screws Dr. Strange (Impact Palm is no longer causing fixed hitstun) or Zero, but other characters like Jill, or Frank West, or Trish work just fine. There are only minor changes that are hardly important. Also, what’s the cecond card on your deck? I don’t think there’s any card that sounds anything like “koush”.

My bad, it’s Kaijin, the B card. I’ve been in the lab and experimented with all the cards with power to see how much I can squeeze out. Also in the lab, seems that the Thanos card gives you .8% for each parry. With the 4% from Hayato, I get power ups mad crazy with one combo ending with Chaotic flame or inferno, that actually contributed to my combo while I have to parry and then land a hit with Thanos…I love the power red hulk gives you, but seeing my gauge is too important.

I really need to find some cards like Maestro and Silver Samurai…anybody have a clue where you get those?

Is anybody else having trouble finding matches online on XBL? Since H&H released, I’ve only been able to get into ONE match and that was with somebody in Sweden (Im in Canada) because I had to set the region filter to any. Even then, I cant seem to find anymore matches after that. Normal ranked matches are fine and so is matchmaking in other games so it seems like its isolated to H&H for me even though it seems like the rest of you are finding matches…I wanna play some (even more) broken Mahvel =(

Now, when do we get those fancy Heralds colors, hmm?

The Herald color rewards seem to be randomized and based on how much effort you put in. It seems like under a certain score = 4 random, over a certain score = 5 random. I got Rocket Raccoon, Shuma, Strange, Doom, and Nova.

Maybe we should make a bloc and all agree to play for one side or the other week-by-week so we can amass large amounts of points and unlock colors. It sounds dirty but ehhh. Speaking of that, which side is up on XBL right now? Honestly, the only reason I care about this mode other than playing with the fun card combos is for the colors, at least until a “with friends” mode is added. I feel bad for saying that, but most online H&H matches are so damn random and are over so fast that it’s hard to play it very much.

Fin Fang Foom
SpiderMan/Hulk/Phoenix/Iron Fist/Strange colors

Going to Heroes side now.
