There should totally be a Mr. Immortal card. Opponent who kills your current character with a projectile attack or assist gets struck by a bolt of lightning that deals 500k of unscaled damage.

According to Capcom-Unity, being on the winning side nets you better cards and the Herald colors for your characters. Plus maybe more

It really shouldn’t take that long to unlock everything. I just hope this new mode will get more people to buy the game or at least get people who don’t play online normally to start. Also you know when people start unlocking the Heralds colors 90% of teams online will be using them.
I don’t often play online, mostly because I suck 
I REALLY hope I can unlock this shit offline through tons of play. I can barely play this game normally, let alone play it with a bunch of wango-tango status effects.
If anything, this is a legitimate tactic to get more people to play online, especially those who don’t like certain play styles.
Example: Don’t like projectile spammers, have your team be invincible against them. NOW what’s your excuse when you get OCV’d?

Is it really true that you can pick three of the same characters in this mode? Also, there’s a card that enables you to cancel your special moves into others, right? I can just imagine the creative combos that people will come up with…heheheee…

capcom some time ago announced how they wanted to implement design a character into the games and with sfxt gem system and this mode, its capcom first shot.
Basically its a beta test to see if the community will bite so they can spin this into a pokemon\magic card type of thing where you will have to buy cards\gems @ a price in order to piece the most ideal character. The stronger the gems\cards, the more money it will cost.
If people like the broken ass mode, it will give capcom the sense that they need to make all their games like that and how could you blame them? they can release DLC gems\cards annually and never have to create a new game, just release a batch of new gems\cards whenever the game is getting stagnant. Its pretty much what Magic does for their card game and its an annual business adventure where they make money all year long. Capcom makes money for only 1-2 months @ a time and its mostly when they have a brand new game coming out. Arcades are no longer buying cabs so if capcom wants 24\7 annual business, this is pretty ideal.
and why this shitty mode over a solid net play function? they spend all their time thinking of ways to scam people and never actually do anything to make sure more people play their game like implement a good online function.
I called DLC top tier characters when they first started doing it and yun\yang and characters in BB were deemed as top tier DLC. This is the next evoultion of that same model. I HOPE to god capcom doesn’t turn this into the worst decision for fighting games where the best things in the game are things you have to buy and never actually have to work rain for.
It’s their trial-rendition of the “Perks” craze that everyone is all up ons.
