Hey, I’ve only just began learning C.Viper ( second day ^^ )
Basically I need some help of course, I can do instant BK’s but only usually backwards away from my opponent, could anyone give any advice on how to redirct them forwards so I can get the cross-up?
Thanks
Make sure you stop at back and not at back+up, then go straight to up+forward, then hit kick. Should look like :qcb::uf::k:.
Hit up training mode until you get the motion right. I usually hold forward for a bit then do :hcb::uf::k:
And from now on please use the quick questions thread stickied at the top part of the page. :china:
Thanks!
And ok I will do, I’m just new to the forums
I just do the SJ input and BK really fast. It might be murdering my stick to do that, though. lol

No it doesn’t
The square/octo restrictor protects the stick microswitches.
Regarding bk, you should just be able to do them both ways. SJ input is easier to juggle into U1 midscreen or to juggle from traded hp tk+dash, TK input is more efficient to perform instant crossup bk upclose.
hi leo ;3. didn’t know you played viper.
i’ve downloaded a few replays of vipers on xbl, and i’ve seen some start off a round with inputs of d, df, f, uf, f, df, d, db, b + kick really quick. but when i try this, it usually works, but it doesn’t really stay too close to the ground.
i’ve tried the d, db, b, uf + kick movement, but it doesn’t really work well for me. but i guess with time, :OOO.
Is there a noticable difference to whethr you are doing it right or not? They all he same to me i can do Cammy’s OTG Cannon Strike flawlessly and they are the same inputs so is there a certain speed at which you input the motion or something?
Yes, there is a very noticeable difference. I don’t really know what else to say except doing a regular qcb k on the ground and then doing qcb uf k should produce two very different burn kicks.

The difference being that the normal one takes a little longer, can completely whiff crouching opponents and is punishable on that whiff.
if you want to go forward that would be the exact input you need in the 2nd post of this thread… its a good idea to use instant air burn kicks on untechable knockdowns to get the quick cross up with a fierce burnkick. ALSO ::: this helped me alot… try holding the kick button down before you do the instant air burn kick and do the input and once you’re done with the input let go of the kick button you’re holding

read this thread, everything you need to know to get started is here. I bumped it back to the 1st page since we have so much spam as of late.

apparently my motions tell me i do back up uf lol
I just posted this in the top thread (apparently i missed the everything you need to know one…) but i though i’d post it here as well for a third way to try it, this works for me, but i’m a pad user (i can’t use a stick to save my life, and yes i do own one). Also a good way to know if you did it right is stand right next to a character and do a HK burn kick. If you do it right, it’ll hit- otherwise you jump over them and whiff.
After using viper all through vanilla and changing it up to makoto, i decided to actually get all of vipers harder-to-execute moves down. I found something out that makes all her jump cancel moves a little easier to do (especially) the insta-BK. When you do the input, you actually have a few frames after the last directional input to put the button command. its not very long, but very noticeable- its enough frames for viper to stand up and go back into fighting stance. That said for a insta burn kick. you you do the motion down-downback-back, pause (roughly the same as with FFF maybe a little faster), and press the desired direction and kick. it works like a charm. same with seismo feints. do the motion pause press up and punch. I hope this helps. This gets around the having to hold down for one second, or buffer slowly. I find it the best way for me, especially since i’m pad user
just came in to say what’s up kure! ^
haven’t seen you in a while!
The timing is definitely different from Cammy’s TKCS where it was pretty much instant.
