Hi, i tried looking for but i didnt find anything about this so.
Sf4 TE stick xbox version on pc. Works fine with ggpo and sf4, problem is i cant get mame to detect it, actually i think it does since it says āDirectInput: Unable to set absolute mode for (sf4 TE joystick)ā and yes i tried to enable joystick inputs.
Anyone ?

Have you tried downloading different versions of MAME? There are all kinds of different builds out there which may address the issue. An update might help, too.
i tried xpadder wich does not seem to work with mame, and it also does not detect my stick only the buttons. And yes i tried updating, the problem is mame not my drivers. I use mame to try to play sf3 so i need mame plus plus, i have the lastest version. Any help ?
u need to download XBCD 0.2.6 it has the ini files for a fightstick
installed it, didnt change , same error
what do mean xpadder doesntā work? its just maps the fight stick buttons as keyboard inputs, and you set mame to those keyboard buttons.
Are you playing SF alpha 3 or SF 3: 3rd Strike?
If 3rd Strike, drop mame and grab GGPO or FBA Shuffle.
Im using mame plus and an xbox360 SF4 TE stick and i have no problems, everything works fine
Which emulator does all of the fighting games?
Iāve got Final Burn Alpha + but now all of the MAME fighters work.

if you use win 7 the stick works in mame or any other emulator without a problem with the os drivers (at least for me)
exact fucking same over hereā¦ xpadder didnt work for the stick and ive tried 5 different versions of mame and rebooting.
about to give up i think. buttons work, stick doesnt.

A few background infos on what I use:
? Windows XP Professional 32BIT
? MadCatz TE ArcadeStick (X-Box360 Version)
? Original X-Box360 Controller
? Mame32 (Version 0.91.0.0)
The problem is like you mentioned, M.A.M.E. just doesnāt detect
the TE Stick so you canāt set the keys/buttons.
The odd thing about it is that it works if I use the xbox360 controller.
If I plug the controller to my PC and start MAME then I can easily set
my buttons with the -tabulator- button once I run a game.
But this is simply not given with the TE-Stick even both should be based
on the same technology because both are made for the XBOX360.
Also, I can only use my XBOX360 controller if I set it in MAMEās main-properties
as āSlikstickā.
The other āJoysticks-Layoutsā called āStandardā, āHotrodā, āHotrodseā and
"Xarcade" donāt work, neither for the XBOX360-controller nor for my TE-Stick.
Iām really clueless and I canāt believe that my expensive TE-Stick wonāt work
on MAME. Iām really dissapointed, though.
I mean I could give it a try with tools like Xpadder or JoyToKey to set my buttons
as keyboard-keys but Iām afraid that this would fuck up my key-config which I did
on my other games like StreetFighter4 or Nebula.
I also had issues on Nebula setting the TE Stick but was able to fix it, thank god.

xpadder for serious. works perfect. just tell mame to use your keyboard
i dont know what you think itāll āmess upā but as long as you keep the keyboard config the same and map xpadder to it itāll be fine.

I use an SE for MAME, which uses the same pcb, and it works like a charm with only the microsoft drivers. I only have to use xpadder for nullDC. Weird.

I finally got my TE-ArcadeStick workin for mame.:wgrin:
Iāve just quit using MAME32 and went over to MAMEplus. Itās so different than MAME32 and much more easier to configure all the settings, not just the buttons, everything. All the stuff which I used on MAME32 works now on MAMEplus as well, even better. Iām so happy right nowā¦pure arcade-machine-feeling at home.
And the interface also looks much better. :tup:
There should be more talk about emulators on SRK since the use of an emulator itself isnāt illegal, just using the roms (only some of it, not all of them).
Next thing I want to try out is the xpadder from everyone is talkin about.
Is there already a thread about it on SRK or some other good tutorial for it elsewhere?
Yeah people are not mentioning that mame plus and mame plus plus are different yeah the stick works with mame plus but mame plus plus is where people like me with the te stick run into problems I have window 7 and also its detected but when i start it up i get the same unable to set absolute mode 0. And this is for MAME plus plus just to add.

make sure MAME is set to use Direct3D 9 and it if is, re-download and re-install Direct X 9
Even if you have a Newer version like Direct X 11, Down load Direct X 9 anyways.
You will need certain run times that Direct X 9 has that newer versions leave out
This will not overwrite your newer Direct X, just add the additional Direct X 9 files
The Version you want is Direct X 9.C (Its the redistribution version)
