Help: Oro vs. Dudley

haha- yeah, definitely. I’ve actually been on this forum for about 5-6 months, but I just wanted to switch my handle.

Tengu all the way one launcher eqauls death.

Not really, now yagyou on the other hand launcher = death.

Dudley can escape unblockables with a reversal super (both Rocket and Corkscrew). Oro and Dudley will end up trading, so Oro gets robbed of a followup loop and Dudley gets robbed of a meter.

vid of me at a tournament last weekend. Tengu action vs dudley

LIke in my opinion In any fucked way of a scenario dudley wont escape a nice long juggle of tengu it does what 45% damage for the whole juggle thats very good sorta like geneijin. You hit like 4 to 5 times and launcher combo =Death

Sure he can reversal super out of it, but what if you’re expecting it? Can you just be ready for it, parry/block it and continue the unblockable?

k, so whoever tested it sucks, if you do the yagou unblockable setup, dudley CANNOT corkscrew it. if you throw it out before the ball comes out of course dudley can corkscrew you, but if the ball is out, he’ll corkscrew it, hit like 1 or 2 hits then the ball will hit him out of super. he can’t super the ball when it’s all up in his grill during the chicken setups to unblockable too, dudley just gets beat straight up

Its funny you posted this, cause I tested this out myself yesterday. With the method I described (light yagyou, dash dash, mk break) you are far above dudley when he has a chance to wake up super, his super will wif, hell get smoked by yagyou, and youll continue beating face. GG’s

Oh and I have a suprise that Im not yet ready to reveal, but it makes playing yagyou against shotos that much more effective. wink

I know this is way off topic but how do setup/do tengu unblockables on Urien. I’ve never seen seen or heard of this but it sounds pretty interesting.

(mp(1-hit)xxxmk.chicken)x2, mp(1-hit)xxxmp.yagou, dashx2, up,dj.uf,mk(breaks)

rinse, repeat

To do tengu unblocks just cross up with jumping mk with tengu activated. Afterward you can land either s.mk->command grab or s.mp ->sj rh. Pretty much I just get it going off a knock down with tengu activated. Against Q you can do repeated unblockable tengu ->s.mk->command grab until you run out of tengu. When you jump towards him immediatley after the command grab you end up just on the other side of him with the rocks coming in for the unblockable.

That’s it? Is this specific to Urien and Q because of their height or does it work on other characters? I won’t get to mess around with 3S until Tuesday or Wednesday because of school and work or else I’d just find out on my own.

Obviously you gotta activate tengu first and then get a knockdown so that they can’t quickroll out of the cross-up. So now my question is what’s the quickest way to knockdown after I activated tengu? Will I waste too much time if I go for a high/low mix up into a command throw? should I do high/low mix up into close mp. to knock them down? Can combo into a sweep from high/low mix up? Which works? Which is best?

Haha… lastly, I’m looking for a thread about this but I can’t find one, if there is one and it answers my questions, can someone give me a link to it?

Thanks

There is no thread about this, it works on everyone for the most part, but it seems to me that only certain characters are comboable after the unblock, for example, chun li most of the time will not combo after the cross up. I mentioned Q because its an unblockable loop that leads to stun and then death. Your just gonna have to feel out the situation on when to incorporate it, most of the time it just happens in the middle of tengu pressure. If you land crouching roundhouse with tengu activated tho, that would be a good time. I personally like it after say, you land a command grab that filled your meter, you activate tengu and go to town.

Tengu stone is just more practical and likely to happen.

I was SOOO WRONG YAgyou on dudley F that. Yagyou gives you the edge in this match-up.

yagou makes this match up pretty damn lame on dudley. he just gets owned in the corner. Dudley causes damage pretty damn nicely still.

Off topic, but is vanilla tengu really a semiunblockable, much like yangs in the anniversary edition tutorial? if so, it might deserve some research.

i dont know why this was asked in a thread about fighting Dudley but no vanilla tengu is not a semiunblockable. it does do a lot of chip though and if you manage to mixup a hit or two it can do a good amount of damage. if for some reason you’re midsceen then crossover mk can help make it very hard to block but its never impossible to block

RyantheRobot: Are you sure crossover tengu unblocks are blockable, cause that doesnt seem to be the case when i bust one…
