christ why don’t we just have the game play itself lol. seriously ppl it’s not that hard to hit 3 buttons. ppl are so lame nowadays, everything has to be spoonfed.
The production rate will get better as soon as the number of emails/calls goes down as well as the amount of changes done to order. With a higher volume of orders these days, things will have to be a lot different than it was in the past. I could really tell there growing pains in the business, and it is not easy for Ed or any other person to get good control of things. Hang in there.
It is just going to take time to get used to pulling off 3 button ultra combo moves. Your reaction hitting three buttons will come naturally as you keep playing.
No apology is necessary, we all have rough days. And I’m glad that you had a rough day, because that means a boatload of business is coming your way.
It’s still the best joystick in town, so I can deal with 6 buttons. I just map creatively, plus sf4 is just for fun. Hd remix is the ‘serious’ game. It just would have been a great luxury. I don’t want stuff “spoonfed” per se, it’s just that I want a very casual relationship with sf4, don’t want to invest much time into it. And many people I play against with 8 buttons will certainly map. Also I believe EVO lets you map buttons. I don’t know if they allow 8 mapped buttons however.
About changes bumping people to the end of the queue, I think that is fair. I would have been willing to bump myself down for 8 buttons. A moot point of course.
Also I think the price change is fair. Not only because of increased cost but I believe a higher price more accurately represents the value of the stick.
I’m thinking of getting a stick myself.
I was just wondering which joystick I should get. I want an authentic American one and I know that I should get a Happ. The problem is that I don’t know which type to get. The only games that I will play are SF4, SF3, and SF2HD.
I just want to know if the modern American arcade machines use Happ Competitions or Perfect 360s (specifically SF4, SF3, CVS2 machines).
Did price just go up for some reason? I’m guessing to capitalize on SF IV, I was thinking of ordering one, but if memory serves me correctly, weren’t these $10 cheaper just a few days ago =/.
Part distributors are raising their prices, so Ed was forced to as well. He’s not trying to dick people over.
Well, seems odd, if you look at the prices on Amazon, people are trying to sell brand new HRAP Ex’s and 3’s for $200. With the release of Street Fighter, I guess price gouging is to be expecting, not trying to down the company but was just wondering if I was just seeing things.
Most American arcade machines I have played on are usually equipped with Competitions, but it all depends on the arcade operator. A Perfect 360 is really a premium since it cost so much to maintain, only the arcade while I was going to college had them. The rewarding factor for me is that I can do dragon punch motions much easier with it.
I would say the bottom line is if money is not a factor and if you have a strong arm (I don’t) to handle the stiffness of the P360, go with a P360.
As for using an AIAB for 3s, you might be out of luck since the PS2 sticks are not listed as of yesterday.
Wow, I just noticed that too. People are desperate to pay lots for a stick, even if it is inferior to AIAB.
Got the stick today… here are a few crappy iPhone pics so you guys can get an idea of the size

Good stuff HungryPillow, I still like the Stock design, I got myself a red color one.
I was wondering if you could weigh it if possible. Enjoy SFIV on your stick!
PS2 sticks will return soon. Just waiting on some info from Toodles. Once they are back we will have new hybrid options with 360/ps3 and native ps2 support. Or 360/ps2, ps3/ps2, etc. Possibly even some gamecube/wii stuff.
I’m not sure but I could have sworn at some point the figure 10 lbs. was thrown around. I don’t even know where that came from.
Shipping weight on the TA is 10lbs. They weigh about 7
Shipping weight on the SA is 7 lbs, they weigh about 4
I would think that if you played SF3 (via the SF Anniversary Collection) on the PS2 or Xbox, it would work with the AIAB.
Hm. Really look heavier than that. Weird.
I think I’ll add some weights to the inside. ed will that void the warranty?
You can indeed play 3s on the SF3 Anniversary Collection with the backwards compatibility on 360 or PS3 system, but it will affect the gameplay so much because of HDTV lag.
PS2 sticks will be back based on Ed’s post so hold out till that comes out if you are still into 3s.
Depends if one falls off and shorts something out :).
I think it will be fine though.
Ed
I just wanted to weigh in and say that I ordered a stick largely due to this thread and the service that Ed provides.
Ed - it’s great to see your business thrive; try not to get too stressed! All the orders are a good thing!
The sticks are lighter than they look. I was surprised by this as well when I first got my Slim Arcade custom. But they are not so light that they seem cheap or anything, and are not too heavy so that it’d be a burden to lug it around.
Construction feels really solid, everyone that has tried my stick has said how well made it was. The japanese stick lovers said they hated the straight buttons and bat-stick though oh well! Can’t please everyone.
PS. The SFIV button config you want is TYPE B
I think I’ll be ok. I’m able to use my cheap Hori EX2 stick just fine with SF3 on the Xbox, with no HDTV lag whatsoever, so I’m confident that the AIAB stick will be no less exemplary. It could be that I turned all image processing on my HDTV.
