I’ve had t2 8/8 vancleef and still lost, hex is a good card
Man just scored a nice pack: Explosive Trap to give me 2, Ironbeak Owl to give me 2 (Dunno when I would use two), Kirin Tor Mage, Blood Knight, and Demolisher.
I opened a pack with 3 epics. I thought my game was bugged. They were pretty junky though.
The Giant that gets cheaper to cast when there are minions on the field.
The Paladin card that heals and draws cards.
The Rogue card that makes your next spell cheaper.
That last one is amazing in combo decks, but the other ones are pretty meh. W/e, free etherium.
I like lay on hands, fit was crucial vs rush decks and mages when they were popular
Lay of hands is a good card
Sea Giant is a good card. IMO, it’s the best of the 3 giants because it’s the easiest one to cast.
I have played so many aggro paladins this week it’s ridiculous, and they’re typically running that card.
(originally misread this post)
^I don’t think so. The other 2 giants have direct synergy with the Warlock and his Draw-go kind of build, and that deck is very competitive. Sea Giant asks to swarm the board, but that’s a kind of risky thing to do when your small minions can get wiped out by stuff like the Shaman’s Lightning Storm, the Paladin’s 4 crystal board wipe, and the Priest’s 5 crystal board wipe (I forget their names.) In Arena, I agree that Sea Giant is the better of the 3 for most classes, but in Constructed, I don’t think he has a home.
Lay on Hands is also amazing in the Arena, but in Constructed there aren’t really any decent slow Paladin builds that would love to use it (at least none that I know).
Don’t forget that your opponent’s minions reduce Sea Giant’s cost. You don’t have to swarm the board when the opponent can do it for you.
That’s the thing, though. If your opponents are as afraid as you are to swarm the board in fear of a wrath spell (and they should be), the Giant loses more and more value.
Maybe if there’s one minion on each side at all times, but how often does that happen? Players are usually going to play more than 1 minion. Even if both players only played 3 minions each, you can drop an 8/8 minion for 4 mana.
I run a giant paladin deck and lay of hands very good especially after I drop those 0 cost Giants, I heal back up and get my hp back
Just opened a King Krush. Feel obligated to fit him in a deck now.
Played two myself and they were annoying but I won, one player was doing horrible shit though. Used the coin round one to summon a 2/1 minion that gives another Divine Shield for a turn when he had none. Followed by horrible other choices like using Equality when I only had a Yeti on the field and he had three minions. I had no idea wtf was going on.
Second was tough as shit, only one cause he has four divine shielded minions. So popped Argent Squire and Bloodknight to make a 15/15 monster of doom to topple him.
Most annoying deck I ran into was a Warlock taunt deck when I was fucking around with a shitty Mage build, could not do enough damage to win and taunt after taunt after taunt kept coming. Was really odd.
^I think that Warklock taunt deck is the Draw-go one I mentioned before. They love that 2 drop 4/5 that does nothing (I think it’s Silent Watcher?), Twilight Drake (the guy that gets more health if for each card in your hand), the Giants, and shielding them with that annoying lady that says “Shields up!”.

Maybe if there’s one minion on each side at all times, but how often does that happen? Players are usually going to play more than 1 minion. Even if both players only played 3 minions each, you can drop an 8/8 minion for 4 mana.
I rarely get to even see 3 minions on ONE side in constructed let alone both sides. Minions are usually dying left and right, so if you’re swarming, generally you’re in a winning position and dropping a cheap 8/8 is win-more instead of actually helping. He’s MUCH better in the Arena since cheap minion killers are not guaranteed, so swarming is actually a valid strategy. In Constructed, though? I still don’t see it.
*Ancient Watcher
It’s the handlock deck that you’re talking about.
Yeah, I believe that was it. My Mage deck was just a fuck around and lacked nuking potential so it was just a 40 minute grind before I was down to nine health and no cards to call it quits.
Sea Giant is easily the best Giant in arena, but easily the worst in constructed.
In constructed he’s either winmore(because your opponent should have wiped your board already), or you’re totally way behind and your opponent’s board shouldn’t have like 5 dudes out already.
Play is more structured on top of that so people are more likely to have answers to an 8/8 suddenly appearing. You also have to factor in that mountain and molten play nice together while sea doesn’t. So you get 4 giants available instead of 2 if you’re on the molten/mountain plan in handlock or some goofy other deck.
Basically Sea Giant forces you to overcommit to the board to get the same sort of benefit that molten/mountain get for you to play thoughtfully and slowly.
Watch out for a player named RedLemon. He’s a cheater.
He had 0 mana but somehow used a Holy Fire to finish me off.
I’m DEBATING to buy 15 packs or not…doesn’t seem smart…I’m basically trying to get legendarys but saving gold for naxx…what do ya think?
