Hearthstone - That other, other, other Blizzard game

ooor you could duplicate Kirin Tors and go ham with secrets or mind fuck the hell out of your opponents with other secrets.

Bloodmage thalnos + duplicate oh lawd. 2+ bloodmages in your hand.

That card makes every other Mage secret that much more powerful.

Incoming Ethereal Arcanist + Kirin Tor influx.

Duplicate + Antonidas = :looney:

Turn 7 Leeroy into turn 8 double Leeroy.

Has anyone ever noticed that they were missing cards from their deck during play? This one game, I only ever got 1 Vanish when I put 2 in the deck. My whole deck was emptied, and I never saw the 2nd Vanish. I can’t be going crazy.

If you’re playing miracle you might have overdrawn and discarded it Kappa

My general philosophy is to only trade if I really need to. I want to keep my opponent from having strong cards out obviously, but you don’t want to get into a trading/removal spiral as you aren’t making headway in the match, and that can be backbreaking unless your top end is nuts.

So I’ll trade on key turns like the turn before my opponents on curve board wipe comes online, or if I want to generate a board state for my own plays going forward(trade so they can’t kill my taunt without playing a spell etc.).

You can’t always worry about what the worst thing that can happen to you is, but it’s good to be aware of whats likely to happen. If a turn 4 swipe is going to be backbreaking unless you trade, do it, always trade if a mage has flamestrike on deck the next turn and you can’t easily remove the minion/won’t have lethal soon. Also not trading can make taunts a little worse.

It takes a lot of trial and error to learn the flow and what cards are likely to show up in arena, but after awhile it’ll click. You just have to remember the opposite of the situation you quoted applies too. You don’t want to be baited into making inefficient plays yourself, especially if you’re ahead in life or likely to be ahead in life soon. You can also take advantage of how the average player overtrades too as they will usually do your dirty work for you. Sometimes you’ll get screwed and your opponent will have some dumb epic or legendary that you could have answered properly if only you traded!, but you can’t play around that stuff and keep your overall gameplan solid. Sometimes you’ll not trade and eat a backbreaking Avenging Wrath or Thalnos+Swip(i had this happen in arena and cried), but it’s just a thing that happens.

tl;dr When in doubt go to the face

It seems that I’ve now joined Hearthstone myself.

Hi SRK pals.

Is there a competitive forum to talk about Hearthstone? I joined Hearthpwn as it seemed like a busy site. The problem is, not only is the scrub mentality really strong there, but the mods seem to coddle them. A lot of the forum doesn’t “get it”.

Is there a better place for talking about the game? Or is the SRK hearthstone thread going to have to do?

Went 0-2 starting back up my 4-0 run. Lost to 2 warriors, one with a bunch of weapons who put a lot of pressure on early. I got a really bad mulligan draw, got my treant out turn 6 and thought I could make up ground. The big game hunter next turn broke my back.

The next warrior had a deathwing and a gorehowl, and controlled the board until he used them.

I beat a rogue who used deadly poison then 3x cold blood on a 3/3 minion. 18 damage to my face leaving me at a 23-1 disadvantage. I really thought my 4-0 start was going to end up 4-3. How I won, I don’t know. It’s a blur. Ended up 7-2 on the night.

@Veserius‌ thank you for the insight again. After the 0-2 I started prioritizing the face unless I could make a smart trade. It really helped me analyze the matches better.

No matter how good a forum is for this game, there will be a shit load of scrubs, like holy shit when Spooky streamed Hearthstone, a shit load of scrubs were ruthless about his little mistakes and pissed him off, spooky even made some relatively advanced plays that were solid and even payed off but the scrubs still bitched about it.

Atleast you won’t really find any here aside from me, just new players and a fair amount of vets. So yeah probably here’s your best bet.

That being said I find a fair amount of competitive HS related info here http://ihearthu.com/ as for their forum. Dunno.

Oops wrong thread. My bad.

Was about to bitch about this bs, happened at 1-0~

but then

It turns out i only lost that game and another at win 11 in which I somehow ran into the same guy the next match and fucked him over, i’ll link the matches later

The deck;

It’s very well rounded and strong in so many aspects. The blood knight is probably the mvp of the deck, completely stealing games at times, definitely recommend it *stolen plenty of games in the past and honestly finding a minion out with divine shield in arena isn’t too rare anyways.

Solid deck! That mana curve is extremely well balanced. Nice job.

What rank to high level players start at in a new season? I only got 20 last season for the card backing and started out at 24.I went 7-0 last night in ranked without the slightest resistance. I figured it would be more difficult at the start of a season, I guess it’s about the same?

That’s because you started at 24, which is one level above not playing at all. You start a new season based on where you finished the last season. Finished at 8 and started at 18.

Yeah I figured something like that. I just thought I’d run into better decks sooner since it was the start of a new season, if that makes sense.

As it is I guess I’m just winning against people who couldn’t win last season or are new. I just started with the release on iPad, so this is all new to me.

So, uh, wow. Major demon deck buff. https://twitter.com/PlayHearthstone/status/474400241756942337

Aww shit, that will be nuts with every single demon that has a summoning downside. Especially Pit Lord and Doomguard.

Just realized Illidan is a demon.

Welp.
