To make better drafting decisions. Trump’s is the best in terms of telling you why something is good or bad, while the antigravity one is a great easy quick reference. The “why” also helps you make choices when there are two similarly rated cards available, or when you need to fill gaps in your curve. Sometimes the other cards you have make a card better than it is on a linear tier list…which is where Arena Mastery is interesting. It lets you save your arena drafts and results, and it makes suggestions based on tiers, with Trump’s card descriptions listed. The values per card also change depending on what else you have in your deck. So, for example, it may give a really high score to your first Flamestrike, but by the fourth one the score is significantly lower. Neat tool.
Oh, speaking of rogue decks, I made a stupid gimmick deck because I wanted to see if I could make it work. I call it conveyor belt. It’s a rogue deck with two shadowsteps, two saps, two vanishes, and four brewmasters. I have no idea how to actually play it or what other cards i should include, but it has already spawned some good comedy. I once played the same si:7 agent three times in one turn. That guy was really toast.
So far the mvp of most of my recent arena decks were BGHs. He caught Sea giants, ironbarks, rags, a venture co. merc, a bunch of threatening shit during my runs. *on a rogue deck as well so the momentum shift was almost always huge.
ANYWAYS
I guess since Hunters kept Zoo in check, Zoo will start rising a bit more.
Yeah stopped at 4-3 from decks with better card draw and a strong early start. Think I lost to 2 other mages and a rogue.
I started trading fireballs for their bigger minions and eventually started running out of options as soon as they started using card draw and the last game I got stumped by ysera didn’t draw sylvanas
The high 4 mana count kinda bit me in the ass during those losing games. On the otherhand the winning games were a complete blowout. As soon as I got my foot out the door with good early board control, the fireball draws started wrecking everything.
I need to screencap my Arena drafts sometimes and post them here, so you can all laugh in my face and then explain to me why they suck so hard. Man, 0-3 wins tops lately.
Had a Rogue with Rag yesterday, was all giddy and excited; 1 win. Fuck my life D:
Read trumps arena tier list, seriously he gives great advice about the majority of the card picks. I almost never end up with a bad deck. At worst theyre all decent, jus depends who i run into. You can run into some fucked up decks in the first 3 wins sometimes and some free wins otherwise *ran into a lock that mashed on hero power, played sense demon turn 3 or so, and milled his top deck twice jn a row. No board control and died really fast.
I’m guessing that it’s to simulate Play Mode speed for tournament purposes. I don’t get why they couldn’t add a toggle option for the friendly game host, though.
