To clarify, Healbot (and Battlecry minions in general) don’t count as spells. If it comes with a minion or a weapon, it’s not a spell.
However, note that some spells summon minions or weapons. So Loatheb will effect Animal Companion and Unleash the Hounds for instance, and should also increase the cost for Upgrade…though I’ve never seen it (Upgrade adds +1/1 to Weapon, and summons a weapon if no weapon is equipped).
Each time your minion dies, you get a random banana card.
Bananas can be:
Rotten: Deal 1 Damage
Normal: +1/+1
Deviate: Swap a minions attack and health
Big Banana: +2/+2 All cost one mana
So, of course, the best decks are gonna be face hunter, zoo, and flamewaker mage (lots of cheap spells). We may see some mill decks get popular since your hand can be full. Mountain Giants will be good because even when you play minions you increase your hand size as they die, so you don’t have that many restrictions on what you can play. And stuff like loot hoarder that normally replaces itself in your hand, now increases hand size by 1, letting you drop the giant a turn faster.
It actually is. While some people just play the mentioned easy top contender decks,
I’ve seen some great ones so far. A very interesting paladin deck is my #1, with enhancos, sea giants etc.pp
I’ll probably try murloc druid next
Challengestone is on at the moment, love the idea.
This time: 30 minutes to build decks, 1 Class, bo5, you can use a card only once.
So 90 different cards in 3 decks, lovely.
How did everyone fare on the Banana Brawl last week? Personally I liked it more than the boss brawl. Won 30 games in that mode with Shaman low-tier deck; the most expensive card i had on that deck was:
Update on that Warlock deck I posted awhile back: Couldn’t get pass rank 16 so I switched mid-month to my Priest deck and that one got me to rank 10. It’s the highest I have ever reached so far playing Ranked. I’ll post it when I get the chance.
I didnt put a lot of time into it, but like 80% of the matches I faced was mage mirror matches. Sorcerers apprentice + Flame Waker was just too good of a combo to pass up. I ran a giants version – mountain and clockwork – which was a lot of fun. I liked how it made so many underused cards viable, like Dragonkin sorcerer, questing adventurer, echoing ooze, clockwork giants, etc. Nice to dust off some cards that are never used and enjoy their time to shine!
I think that if it wasn’t for sorcerers apprentice, the class distribution might have been a bit more balanced
Yea man; Questing Adventurer is freakin’ OP in Banana Brawl. I wish I have 2 of em. The best opening card on that mode was w/o a doubt Haunted Creeper.
I had fun with a Secrets Paladin running the 2/1 thing, the +3/2 thing to random minion, and the return to 1HP thing. I forget what they’re called. Overwhelm and roll.
…and one Eye for an Eye just to muck with people if they finally clear board.
