Hearthstone - That other, other, other Blizzard game

300

still better than 100 gold for getting all the cards in the set lol

yeah the 100 gold for completion thing is a joke. I’ve opened hundreds of packs and don’t have the base set complete.

Well today I opened my second legendary…King Mukla! Not bad I guess, the bananas sometimes hurt though.

one day you’ll live the turn 8 mukla-loatheb-on-empty-board dream.

…Woo, free Epic!

kitkatz managed to get 3/3 KT from Sneed’s Shredder vs. Thijs (Bo 5). The first two were back to back in one game and the last one sealed the series.

Opened a Bolvar and a Tirion yesterday, been having loads of fun playing Control Paladin. Wish I got the Warlock legendaries instead, though, since I’ve been dying to play Demonlock.

Demonlock, while mad fun, is not as good as Control Paladin.

Control Paladin is the best class in the game right now, and I think it’s the strongest class type there has ever been.

Seriously, they made my main man ridiculous. Turns out all he needed was an early game and suddenly he is unfuckable with.

Current paladin is more midrange than anything, but definitely one of the best midrange decks out there right now.

I’d still lean towards control warrior for most strongest for overall consistency whirlwind makes or breaks the midrange paladin matchup Handlock absolutely got redic with their new tools. Antique healbot changes everything. Unfortunately for handlock, midrange paladin can go face and not give a shit. 2x moltens -> get shat on by equality/Big threats? FOLLOW DA RULES.

Paladin didn’t just gained a better early game, now everyone respects the fuck out of their hero power to the point that it might as well be a 1/1 undertaker. No one is gonna risk letting a turn 3 muster for battle -> coin quartermaster go live. It’s so intimidating that you don’t even need quartermaster in hand or even in your deck for hero power synergy. You’re gonna win some games where a person would go out of his way to get rid of a token(s) instead of normally dealing with a medium threat. edit think i’ve repeat this before fuck im tired lol.

I think paladin is top 3-4 at the least for the current meta. Not definitive because last few weeks hunter/zoo has been getting a lot more popular and aggro hunter is still effective as fuck. So Lock is a absolutely likely candidate with the now borderline ridiculous handlock imo i think paladin somewhat keeps them in check and a strong yet not too hard to craft new zoo deck with imp-losion. Control warrior has a shit load of even matchups, and shield maiden is pretty great.

The thing is, Paladin eats the other control decks alive, while still having good answers for rush decks. The only thing he struggles with is the OHKO style decks with the big combos, everything else is fair game.

The inclusion of Implosion, a card that is really weak based on stats, actually helps Zoo so much. It’s so versatile, and just creates more annoying bodies for it’s heavily buff dependent style to work with.

I think you are underestimating how important having a good 2 and 3 drop was for Pally. You could often have the game lost before you got in it. Now, I run 2xChow’s and 2xBot and my early game is strong and stable.

Paladin is not the best class there has been in this game.

I don’t know if you played in beta but Rogue, OTK warrior, and Freeze Mage were all incredibly dumb.

Don’t forget beta version of Unleash the Hounds OTK.

I’d probably lean towards hunter being the best class of all time when their mid range deck was at their strongest prior to the nerf.

Their winrate was absurd, like 55% to 60%~ across the board, even against their “bad matchups”. On top of the speed in which those games went and how relatively cheap it was to craft the deck, it was absolutely a amazing deck for laddering. On top of how god damn resilient this class is. Despite all nerfs and no matter what meta, they always find a way to rise to the top 3 if not the top most played.

Wow that bad huh? I’ll keep it, seeing as how rare legendaries are (again only my second), and it seems like a primo mill deck card.

It’s not very good at being a Mill Deck card though. The goal is to win by fatigue, which the Bananas don’t really help with. If you’re lucky, you burn maybe 1 card off the top in a control matchup but by that point Mukla isn’t doing much else.

Mukla isn’t a TERRIBLE card mind you. In a winning position he can be tough to deal with as the Bananas given won’t provide any instant relief. But cards that are only decently good when winning…aren’t cards that you really need. It’s definitely a Dust card. Highly doubtful they’ll make any tweaks to it to where you’ll get the full 1600 Dust back.

Mukla was my Shock Paladin MVP. Never dusting that guy.

I’d keep Mukla personally.

I think Mukla can work in Mill. Mukla + Naturalize to fill bananas and then burn cards, Coldlights, etc.

You’re just making it too gimmicky. Yeah, there would be the dream where you Mukla up some Bananas, and then you Coldlight/Naturalize and now they’re basically free while putting the opponent closer to fatigue without gaining anything for it. But again, it just feels like another play where Mukla does really well when ahead…and does very little when behind.

But I think the common consensus (it isn’t my opinion mind you, as you can plainly see) is to not Dust much of ANYTHING, let alone any Legendaries.

Ever play Hunter, and you lose when the opponent has 1 HP left, because a turn earlier you forgot to tap your Hunter power?

…yeah…

EDIT: On the bright side, I drew Gallywix.
