Hearthstone - That other, other, other Blizzard game

I opened a Leeroy yesterday. Yay, free 1600 dust!

Arena experiences/knowledge from the last runs:
• 9 out of 10 mages have Pyroblast and kill you with it
• If you have Duplicate, your opponent has Polymorph or Hex. 10 out of 10 times.
• Warrior is fun. Warrior with Grommash is even more fun. 4 out of 5 wins ended with a very, very angry Grommash. (Ok, 7 out of 10…)
• I totally suck at topdecking. I really do.
• Runs drafted by my strategic advisor (aka. clueless significant other) usually end with better results than my drafts… which is sad.
Appearance > value… apparently.

Hey man, appearance is so tempting when you are new. My first arena run (the free one they give you), I picked warlock (look at the red eyes!, the tusks!) Then I picked up 2 sense demons…(Demons!!! Awesome!) Then I picked up a few Voidcallers (the darkness! the void! Random demon summoned!) Unfortunately I didn’t pick up any demons…so I got a bunch of worthless imps. Needless to say that was an 0-3 run.

Got my first 12 win run. 12-1 and the only loss was because of a ridiculous misplay on my part.

It’s about time.

Good stuff! glad to see you managed to get it with a pretty balanced deck on top of it.

You certainly must have loved seeing your opponents throw down senjins and gurubashi berserkers.

Thanks!

Oh man, between cabal and shadow word pain… Definitely the mvps. 3 clerics was nice too, I was able to bait removal with them and get great value.

Best moment was in a fairly even board with me a bit ahead vs a shaman, but I was able to trade and leave some hurt minions on the board, including a cleric. Stole a healing totem, drawing me a nice full hand while putting my minions out of lightning storm range.

I’m wondering if they’ll nerf Undertaker eventually, pretty much all midrange decks play him.

Undertaker should only gain 1 attack, not a full +1/1. He’s a bargain in every phase of the game except for true top deck mode.

Well undertaker is dependent on deathrattle minions, I don’t think they’ll nerf it. They also have a huge expansion coming up and we have no idea what cards will be there. Maybe something similar to Nebuur weblord except for deathrattles.

Definitely would prefer they avoid nerfing anything til the expansion comes out, and wait a good amount of time for the meta to develop with those new cards. Nerfing should always be an absolute last resort IMO.

After a bit of thought, im pretty sure they’d eventually add a new set of basic cards and increase the level cap for heroes from 60 to 70 and fill the rewards with gold versions of those cards, similar from going from vanilla wow to Burning crusade expansion.

We might see the vanilla 3/4 for 3 minion… maybe.

Side note. Am i seeing the naxx board in ranked? Great lol

I got a naxx stage from arena, pleasant surprise.

Yeah, Naxx is out as a stage.

I guess it means the new expansion is on the horizon.

Or it’s October and Blizzard does seasonal events in WoW so they threw us a surprise.

Headless Horseman surprise legendary plz.

I’ll be honest guys…idk if I’m feeling Constructed for this game that much.

Then again, I damn near raged during my last Arena run. Nothing like getting your Argent Squire nailed by freaking Blood Knight…

Bloodknight has been a mvp for a lot of my arena decks. There’s that one time where i rematched this hunter at 12 wins after losing to him and then absolutely destroying him because of a turn 3 bloodknight on his scarlet crusader.

It was just really bad in this case. I had a very good curve but he coins Mana Wraith. So I draw into Argent thinking I can at least still curve out into Death’s Bite. Nope, gets Blood Knight and I’m way too far behind at that point. It was an instant game over essentially.

Was so happy to see the nax board in play mode this morning.

Undertaker snowballs so fast! If there weren’t so many great deathrattle cards it would be one thing… But deathrattles are all over many of the best cards.

Tried out miracle rogue with southsea deckhand as the finisher.

I had a druid at 9 health with auctioneer out and he was the only minion on the field. Played Southsea deckhand + cold blood + faceless. 9 Mana out of 9 mana spent. Opponent conceded. 7 out of 9 mana, forgot what else i spent it on

What he didn’t realize was that i didn’t have a weapon out because I forgot; Deckhand couldn’t charge and i used up much of my hand for that.

Ha haaaaaaaaaaaa!

  1. Blood Knight, that is a real cool card, eating away all your opponent’s divine shields or setting him up with your own divine shield minions. I unlocked and got all the naxxramas cards, so now doing arena with earned gold. Hopefully I get a blood knight sometime, I made a divine shield/secrets paladin deck.

  2. I’ve created a deck for each hero, each with a different theme. It is still early, but I think I like Druid the most…followed very closely by Priest. So I got my first ā€˜extra’ card (3rd copy), so I disenchanted my first card. Got the 95 dust bonus…and now I could craft a rare, anyone I want! I was excited, but had a tough time deciding. Do I go with a neutral that can be used in any class, or a class card? I don’t have sunfury protector or defender of argus which I see all the time, and that was tempting. However in the end I went with a Keeper of the Grove for the Druid. So any crafting advice for the future? I mean I have no Druids of the claw or a lot of the other common expert cards, however is it a waste to craft commons since they are so…well common? Do I craft rare…or do i save up for legendary? This is for someone with a all the naxxramas cards but a very limited collection otherwise (maybe 7 packs? I haven’t kept track)
