True, but this more relies on card luck draw and general curve than a consistent line of play. Then I don’t think neither Shadow Word can take it out which gives Priest a rough time in regards to minion wipe. I have been thinking about subbing in the 5/6 direct damage spell again and seeing how that fares.
Handlock is mulligan-ing specifically for Twilight Drake and Mountain Giant, so you’ll see them more often than not. Holy Fires are nice for some late game reach, and you could always sneak in a Silence for a meta call/to blow past a taunted up Giant. That said, a taunted/silenced Ancient Watcher is annoying as shit too.
Yeah Handlock is all about Twilight Drake, and a buffed Twilight Drake is a Priest’s worst nightmare. If you don’t deal with it with the quickness you will be screwed.
However, again, it’s yet another card that proves the power of Silence right now (again, the mechanic, not the card). Ironbeak Owl, Spellbreaker, Mass Dispel…believe in those cards man. It’s a Deathrattle Meta out there, these cards are huge right now. Silencing a Twilight Drake turns it from fierce to child’s play.

From what I’ve read, deathrattle priest had a great match-up vs hunter and some of the anti hunter decks. So the nerf hurt the priest deck by extension. It’s not like I’m experiencing any of it first hand, so take that with a grain of salt.

The Giants aren’t the issue, Priest easily handles them.
The issue is Twilight Drake. Not strong in terms of power, but without a Silencer the Priest simply isn’t touching it.

I just had 2 deathlords on board being 8/8 thx to inner fire, which twilight drake couldnt save him, he conceded right after I destroyed it lol.
EDIT: you can also use inner fire on his drake, then destroy it with BGH.
