Well, it’s definitely a challenging match, but it’s not one that makes me feel like I can’t win. I’ve won a lot against hunter. I’ve also lost a lot against hunter, but I rarely feel like I don’t have a chance unless i get a really crappy opening hand. I’m pretty sure a lot of the secret mages play pretty different builds from mine, so they play them differently.
A few things that help me against both hunter and zoo with the deck:
Mirror Entity: Played early against hunter, it often baits flares, setting them back in tempo and removing one of their anti-secret options. if they don’t, you get a free cheap minion to help keep up on board in the early game. That also factors in against zoo. Getting a harvest golem or haunted creeper or something on turn 3 or so really helps keep the board from snowballing too fast., and if you can get them late, you’re at an advantage.
Turn 5 Loatheb followed by a counterspell/duplicate play against Hunter pretty much wins the game if the board isn’t too huge to compete with. Hunters aren’t really prepared to deal with 3 Loathebs.
If your opponent has a bow, sometimes it’s best to just frostbolt the face.
I really hope in the next expansion there are more class specific legendaries. Being a Priest main it sucks having arguably the least viable one, having zero impact when you drop it on the board. I dont think I’ll ever even bother to craft it with the way the card plays now. (7 cost 7/7 Minion, Doubles the Damage and Healing powers of your spells and Hero power) On a different note Ysera is my favorite card
Mind linking your deck? I’m in the market for a new deck, and I have some paladin epics to work with along with 3300 dust.
Played one last double shadow step leeroy this morning… After yesterday going from rank 19 to 13 without losing for my last hurrah on my death rattle hunter.
1 Boar as Mirror entity tech? Kinda lowers your finisher over a Arcane Golem though. Double Hellfire is a better against Shaman but Double Shadow Flame is better overall against the other classes in my opinion.
1 BGH might be a good include against mirrors, CW and Ragnaros in general. Decent Shadow Flame fodder at worst.
I play Alex right now with the Arcane Golem combo, seems pretty good so far. Jaraxxus in a slower deck with a bit more endgame and no combo.
That guy put boar in to eat up freezing traps, he hasn’t updated the deck to post hunter nerf. I’m just looking for a deck to base something off of for now, with a budget close to 3k dust and that one fits the mold.
Coincidentally, I just crafted Alex for my mage secrets deck. She isn’t getting me wins, really, but that’s because I don’t know how to use her yet. I’ve lost close games because I used her one turn to early or loo late.
I’m guessing that one is more traditional? After I dust leeroy, I will just be able to craft this deck. Might let the meta play out a little to see if any miracle rogue variant decks seem viable before I take the plunge. I really enjoyed my few days playing that deck.
1 Mortal coil and 1 Argus are clear flex cards, 1 Siphon to a degree but I’d play two. You can play BGH, Faceless, Black Knight*, Sunwalker etc. instead.
Personally I wouldn’t play 2 Argus, redundant now after Naxx and too clunky. 1 or 2 Coils is a meta call, I often end up wanting a better card over the second coil when I play two regardless.
Start with that and do changes that you see fit later on.
